One erect nipple after BMX?

hi all,

I had my nipple sparing BMX 1.5 years ago. However, ever since then, my left nipple is constantly erect. This is not anything new, there’s no pain, no swelling, nothing. But is this normal? It drives me crazy. I have to wear a padded sports bra bc it’s so embarrassing. BS even did an ultrasound, per my insistence, to make sure all is well. Anyone else experience this?

That is interesting. I am 15 months out from my BMX and my nipples are totally nonfunctional and perpetually flat. I can see where it could be annoying for you. Do you have feeling in your breasts/nipples? I do not.

yup... my right side, the one that had the lumpectomy before I decided to do the skin/nipple sparing, bilateral mastectomy , is more or less erect, without stimulation... unlike my left side that was prophylactic.

I'm guessing that the surgical oncologist who work with my plastic surgeon was more confident on the side that had the lumpectomy about clear margins. On the left side he must have been being more cautious and affected the nipple more so it's not reactive.

I have gradually gotten feeling back in justbthat one nipple. No sensation in the breast though. So strange. I have my follow up tomorrow with her, so I will ask again..

thanks everyone for offering their experience. I went back to doc about it, had imaging and got the all clear again. I guess this is my new norm

May be a nerve problem. Regeneration or nerve damage
