Hi girls,

I was diagnosed with IDC in March and I am on Tamoxifen and ovarian suppression. I'm 39 and have an oncotype score of 11. Was wondering if there is someone with similar score and if they had a positive outcome.

Thanks,

Laura

I hope it's enough, because that's what I'm doing! Sometimes it feels like too much (the menopause thing)

The Tailor X trial just wrapped up and the findings were that it's safe for others with similar stats to skip infusion chemo

If you want to really hit it hard maybe you can try the AI drugs.

Oncotype 12. Chemo was not recommended. I'm on tamoxifen and hoping for the best.

My Onco type was 20 which my doctor considered a low intermediate need. Therefore she did not recommend chemo for me. She believes the risk of out weighed the benefit of chemo based on the TailorX study. Therefore I am only take Tamoxifen. Hope it is enough! Seems like based on my reading, less than a year ago people on this site with 18 were getting chemo.

Laura - I had the exact same score of 11. I dodged chemo because of that low score. I had IDC, Stage 1b, Grade 1. I had 33 radiation treatments and took Tamoxifen for 5 years. I was 7 years out last August.

    24. No chemo - a difficult decision reached with the help of my oncologists, primary care physician, and weighing risks vs benefits and taking the statistical information into consideration. I’m on letrozole (post menopausal) and so far, after 4 months, tolerating it well.

onco 18. My mo said that i would only decrease my risk of recurrence by 3%, but i would increase my risk of lymphoma by 3%. He said lymphoma is worse. Not worth the risk.
