Let's conduct our own study on how we all got breast cancer

it was all that damn meat I ate in grad school

Have you seen the new style? Thankfully plumber butt is being replaced, buuuuuuuut it's with "mom" jeans! Seen a few girls now with the high waist jeans on and have to say it's still not a nice look. You know I never knew that "mom" jeans was an actual brand - thought it was just what you called ugly jeans your mom would likely wear. lol
I named my breast cancer after my mother in law. There is no way it was all the sugar I consumed as a child, or all the fad diets I tried, or the hairspray I used during the high bang phase - boy could my cousin get some height to hers!
This thread is great, love it!

There has been a ton of research into environmental causes for cancer....could this have possibly been a contributor when it took to the air waves?
My older sister played it endlessly whilst wearing her bell bottoms and leather peace sign necklace
-
I am convinced it's the food. I just heard a commercial for a protein and vitamin drink for children that says....no added extra hormones. Excuse me what? Hormones??? Seriously ?? Like no... don't add anything maybe ?? A children's drink ? Seriously that young no added hormones ? I have Hormonal cancer.??? They pump our meats and over pasteurize all dairy products. I always excersised constantly. Had little body fat.. a non smoker. Non drinker... and never did heavy drugs of any kind. There was no history in my family and I am the youngest of four. My guess would be exposure to environmental pollution and our food is over processed. We need to start living off the land. I have been turned on the a book called the medical medium. By Anthony Williams. I find it and interesting read. Have a great day ladies ~M~

Okay Egads, we had Ronco and KTel records too. There are actually some good artists and songs on them - can't argue with Gladys Knight, Dobie Gray, BTO & Barry White.
-
Oh yes Melissa, so true! Sly & the Fam Stones along with Downchild cant be beat either! I think Clapton's original 'Layla' was on that compilation....and the risqué (for the times) the song 'Chicaboom’ lol...music thatbrings back good memories
-
hahahaaa kSusan!!
There’s a crazy older lady that stands on the streets of philly...she looks like any normal cute white-haired grandma and she holds a sign that says the one of our most famous hospitals gives women breast cancer and hands out little cards with a website address on it.
I curiously took one the cards and then went to the website which is all about how having abortions causes breast cancer. My jaw dropped. Now when I pass that not so cute anymore grandma I snarl at her.
-
Micmel, I agree! It's kind of funny - not - this past year I have been eating the best I can, preservative free, no hormones, locally grown, organic, along with exercise, and I get a breast cancer diagnosis! Thank you for the book recommendation. The last one I read was Food Sanity.
-
Yes MelissaDallas, working for morons is high on the list of causes. Get out as soon as you can.
LizabethM, 23 bags of popcorn together with soda to drown the kernels, yes, a definite contributor.
My house needs a serious cleaning. The dust bunnies are laughing at me because I'm scared to arouse them lest they plan a counter-attack. I haven't lasted almost 10 years (next month-Yay!) to get them angry at me again.
-
Oh yeah, blasting music from humongous stereo speakers, especially at concerts, made our cells mutate and hide in our breasts.
-
I think for me my horoscope sign caused my cancer - Aquarius, something about planets aligning, Jupiter and Mars! Yeah, that’s what did it!😆 Maybe birth order, I’m the youngest of seven children. Three older sisters who have not had cancer. Any other “babies” diagnosed out there? I used to drink right out of streams in the mountains back in the day. Blue is my favorite color, I like to read, hmmm, so many ways to blame ourselves! That’s my “study”!
-
Patoo - congrats on 10 years next month!
Katy - you may have something there with the babies - I am the youngest of 3 and I got it.
Seriously it was my mother in law. blahahahahaha
-
Hmm, I'm the youngest girl. No issues for them, and nothing for my brother who is the youngest. Well, actually he has heart issues. So being the youngest has its faults.
-
I'm a "middle child" so clearly being a "Jan Brady" is what gave me my cancer!
-
I am the youngest of four girls...there might be some real research going on here about birth order causing cancer 😂😱😳.
-
today I'm thinking about the cause too.... and for me, it definitelly was my episode of being drunk. yes. episode. once in my life have I been drunk. that's today's cause for me
I can't blame even one try of a cigarette... I had not even one single tiny try of a cigarette in my life
-
Pretty sure getting my wisdom tooth out caused it.
Perfectly healthy, got my wisdom tooth out, next minute breast cancer.
I have another wisdom tooth giving me hell but who knows what will happen if I get it out.
Either that or that one time I made a distasteful cancer joke
-
Well, I've always heard you shouldn't pluck your areola hairs... yet I did 🤔
-
I
I am starting to wonder about all the hairspray, chemicals from the perms we did in the 80's!
-
nope, not one perm in my life.. was a small girl during 80s
-
Oh no Mods, those are not me. I always wanted hair like Tina Yothers from Family Ties, unfortunately my hair is way too thin.
-
riding around in Friday night in a small town looping the square, back down the drag, loop around dq parking lot, repeat.. All those turns pushed all the bad cells around.. Either that or getting squished riding the himilaya at the county Fair!! I always seemed to be in the inside seat with folks on top of my boobs 😮
-
bettysgirl, yeah, that himilaya was my downfall as well. Try as I did, I always ended up on the wring end. And since my girls are small to begin with they could not fight back.
-
I'm convinced Beanie Babies sneak around while we're sleeping and lay cancer eggs in our ears.
-
Wish they had "like" buttons. You folks are very funny. That's good because life is sooooooooooo short.
-
I should have cancer from Beanie Babies from all the times I hiked with my Beanie Baby crazy friend from the office to the gift shop at a hotel in the searing Texas summer heat to see if they had any new ones in. It also probably fried my brain hiking on 130 degree cement and asphalt.
-
All the doll speak has got me wondering if my childhood favourite may have had something to do with it...
She freaked our dog out, wouldn’t go 10’ within her vicinity, maybe he was on to something
-
I forgot to mention the magic marker and rubber cement sniffing in my childhood probably contributed to cancer. Or something. I can't remember with all those fried brain cells. 🙃
And I'm sure training bras were a contributing factor. Of course, I would take mine off after gym class and stash it in my locker and accumulate them until the end of the week, so they may have formed a rebellion and plotted against me.
