Found multiple lumps this week, after bil. mastectomy 12/21/17

Options

The lumps are on the upper and outer quadrant of my right breast. I had a bilateral mastectomy 12/21/17 with reconstruction and fat grafting 4/2018. The 1st lump is oblong with a bulbous center and is the biggest. The 2nd lump is round 1/2 pea sized and 1/2 " away from the other lump and 3-4 inches below my clavicle. Then there are 1-2 more same side and area. This is the same breast that had a grade 3,1.5 cm ER-PR- /DCIS. Is this a spot where scar tissue would typically appear? No lumps have popped up on the left.

I am hoping this is how scar tissue appears and feels.

Thanks for any insight

yes.. fat grafting can definitely cause lumps, and scar tissue can feel the same way. I had my fat grafting in September of last year, and just within the last few months, since the swelling wentdown, can I feel the lumps. I too was nervous so I asked my BS to perform an US, and that’s exactly what it was. To be on the safe side, ask your doc what he/she thinks it could be.

Even though scar tissue can feel that way, it is imperative to have any new lump checked...not just by a doctor's hand (my doc was "sure" that my recurrent lump was benign), but by imaging. Call your doc and be seen. Hoping these are benign. Keep us posted.
