Diep reconstruction and lung disease

Looking anywhere for information about DIEP with complicating lung disease. MDS are Leary to perform this longer surgery. I would prefer not to do implants.

    My procedure was over 10 hours but my plastic surgeon also did a lift on the real side. I didn't have any health issues at all but I was nervous by that much time under anaesthesia. It turned out fine no problems at all.

    I didn’t have lung disease but I had other complicating factors that the vast majority of women don’t have. My recommendation is to consult with the best in the business for DIEP, that have seen the most, done the most, dealt with the most, and say yes when others say no and still get the job done with superior outcomes. That place is NOLA. Here’s a link to their site. Consult is done via phone and email (great option when you’re out of state) and there is no charge for the consult.

    I agree with Lula. Find a Breast Cancer Center that specializes in Mastectomy and DIEP Flap Reconstruction. In February I had BMX with DIEP Flap Reconstruction. The OR was reserved for five hours...I was out in 4.5 hours. While my BS was removing my breast, two PS’s and three PA’s were harvesting the fat tissue and veins from my abdomen. No complications...
