Looking for a second opinion. I went to Gibbs (josey bearden) and talked to a surgeon there. He had a plan that sounded good for my stage I cancer- surgery then 5 weeks radiation. After he talked to a cancer board that he is on he told me I am qualified to be part of a clinical trial and will need chemo first. I don't like this plan. Who can I go to next to get a second opinion in my area?

    Hi there. IMO you should get a second opinion at a major university teaching hospital. Not sure what Gibbs is or whether or not it is one. Good luck and keep us posted.

    Hi Rhonda. I am also in Greenville being treated at GHS. My type of cancer, chemo is a must since it’s not hormonal.

    Some women will travel to Dana Farber in Boston, MD Anderson in Houston or Sloan in NYC.

    Have you thought of getting a second opinion at GHS or Bon Secour. Or if your willing to travel to Duke.

    I didn’t get a second but I had to get into chemo right away and my treatment is on line with what other centers are doing.
