I had DCIS Stage 0 over 13 years ago and had a lumpectomy and 6 weeks of radiation. I have been for annual mammograms since then. I found a lump back in July and I am due my mammogram in October but I didn't want to wait that long so I went to the breast clinic. My doctor didn't feel any lump she just thought it was dense tissue around the lumpectomy site, she did an ultrasound and didn't see anything . It is now September and I can still feel the lump and I think it might be bigger should I go back to the breast clinic or just wait 2 weeks till my mammogram appointment?

That's a hard call to make. Is the lump in the same breast as the one you had treatment on? It's good you went and got an ultrasound on the area earlier this summer. Because of that I think it would be okay to wait another two weeks. But it is completely your call.

the mammo will be helpful but can you push for an MRI? My BS said MRI has the best odds for detection- 1 in 4. Mammo is only 1 in 10.
