Abnormal mammogram

Good morning everyone. It’s my first time here and I’m so worried. I had my first mammogram on September 18, i am 41 years old and my mom had breast cancer at 46. My mammogram came back abnormal. It shows a 6mm ovoid nodule in the upper inner aspect and scattered areas of scattered fibroglandular density. I am scheduled For an ultrasound Friday and then with a breast surgeon October 3. Why am i already scheduled with a breast surgeon and can anyone tell me what the mammogram mean exactly? Thank y’all so much. I’m so worried

You'll probably need a biopsy, which would be with a breast surgeon. Don't get too far ahead of yourself. Chances are it's nothing to worry about.

did you get a birads score on your mammogram report?

Yes. It says 0. I just got called that my ultrasound was moved to tomorrow and then after that the breast surgeon called and moved that appointment from next Wednesday to this Friday. I asked why everything was being moved and she said my orders are STAT so when the imaging center had an earlier appointment and moved me up so did they.

Can you post the complete report?

In my area it can takes weeks to get a surgical appointment so we make an appointment with the surgeon for the patient just it case the finding in question needs to be removed. It saves time. If its benign the appt is cancelled.
