This maybe obvious, but does anyone know if hormonal therapy is more effective when your cancer has is highlyEr and Pr %? Also, do they know if the cancer cells actually die or just go dormant when taking hormonal therapy

yes the higher the sensitivity percentage, the more effective the anti-hormonal therapy is. The therapy starves any remaining cancer cells of estrogen leading to eventual cell death. However, some cancers are more aggressive and the therapy can just slow it down, but not eradicate it. Additionally those cancers that are less sensitive to ER may not sufficiently starve with antihormone therapy and the cancer has better chance of coming back.

My ER was 100% and PR was 99.89%. All of the doctors that I have seen have told me that the anti-hormone drugs will be especially effective for me due to my high numbers. I just hope they are right.

That is what they say. Even if one is weakly positive they still often recommend it to hopefully knock the odds down even more.

Thanks so much for your response. Very good to hear! My cancer is 99% Er and Pr positive. Mydoctors have always said hormone therapy is particularly important for me, but have never explained why in much detail.
