Waiting game has started
i had my biopsy this afternoon after an abnormal mammo and US. My mom first got BC at 42 and it killed her at 56. I took a genetic test and i do not carry the BRCA 1 or 2 so i thought i was in the clear. I am 36 and was not expecting this.
My mammo and US showed a mass with ill defined boundaries and the radiologist couldnt tell what it was and gave me a Birads of 4b. No calcifications or architecture was observed.
They said it will be wednesday when i get the results but i know they will be posted on my portal before the doc calls me. I am not sure how i am not going to be checking the portal every five minutes
My hubby keeps telling me he knows it is going to be benign but i am just terrified at this point. I know the younger you are the worse it is.

Hi TRC18 - I know that you are feeling so scared and unsure right now. I am sending peace and calm your way until you get your results on Wednesday. Try to breathe and do something nice for yourself to help the time pass. Please keep usposted. Thinking of you and will continue to as you journey through.

It wasn’t long ago that I found myself waiting for results. I wanted to check my portal too but luckily I wasn’t getting my password right and I kept trying to redo it and their system wouldn’t let me, I must have tried 30 times and even wrote to tech support. I am glad I had to wait and speak to the doctor after all. I am so sorry about your mom. There at every so many new advancements with treatment I think. I hope you get benign results. Happy you don’t have mutation.

BTWI did something nice for myself too while I was waiting I got a nice massage. I told her what was going on and how I just wanted to relax. It really was one of the better ones I have had.

thanks for the responses. I am trying to stay busy but it is hard not to think about it. I have been checking my portal like crazy even though i know the earliest they may post the results is Monday. I think it is a control thing, i feel more in control if i can log on and see the results instead of a surprise call from my doctor.

finally got my results this afternoon. My lump was benign, apparently some fatty tissue. My doc is going to have me do yearly mammos now instead of biannual. For people out there who come across this post in the future, a bi rads of 4b and almost a week of waiting for results can still be b9. I know i googled those two things constantly while i was waiting.
Best of wishes to everyone in this forum.
