Hello! Wondering if anyone else on BCO has had an allergic reaction to Faslodex?

i started Faslodex injections in August. The first was painful, but otherwise fine. After my second injection, I developed a rash at the injection site (both cheeks), about 2 days after the injection. I discussed with my oncologist, and she recommended taking Claritin for 5 days before and 5 days after my third injection, which was on 9/13.

I am currently on vacation in Europe, and yesterday, I woke up with a small rash on my torso. By this morning, it had spread to my entire torso and inner thighs. I was seen at the Emergency department today (which was quite an adventure!), and they believe it is a reaction to the Faslodex. They recommended i continue with the claritin, and increase the size of prednisone i am taking, until the rash subsides.

I am just wondering if this has happened to others, and what was the eventual outcome? Did you have to change treatments? I am terrified!!! I was only recently diagnosed (July 2018) with de novo stage 4 mixed IDC/ILC, and aside from the radiation for my brain met, this is the first therapy i have tried. I would hate to have to abandon it so soon! I don't want to run out of options!

Oops! I meant to title this thread "faslodex allergy" but my tablet had other ideas!

In any case, hoping maybe someone else has had this experience with faslodex or other therapy and can share their experience?

    Thanks!
