Stress, Depression, Anxiety
Summer time I did pretty good, seemed to have many good days. I was working on changing my diet to low carb, I went back to work a couple days a week and I was able to start working out. Went on vacation at the end of August and things seem to have gone downhill from there. I can't get my diet back on track, my shoulders and back are causing me constant pain ( I have tried massage, chiropractic and physio therapy with no help), I don't know if it's the season but I feel depressed, I stress out over the kids homework and how to help them when I am not a very smart woman, I constantly have a cancer of the day going on. The worst is the diet, if I could just get that back on track it would eliminate the guilt, the bloat and maybe even some of the inflammation in my joints. I just can't seem to find where I left my will power and determination! Anyone want to loan me theirs? haha
Any advice or tips. I see a therapist weekly and she is a godsend, but I am still struggling.
Thanks in advance for reading.

Hi there. Just wanted to reach out to you to let you know you are not alone. I'm not a psychiatrist but you sound clinically depressed. Maybe you could talk to your doc about an antidepressant that also works on anxiety. The other thing I might do is stop the Tamoxifen for awhile to see if you feel better and then go from there. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks dtad, I am actually on an anti-depressant. It takes 3 weeks to see my GP, when I finally see him on October 1st I am going to have a HUGE list of things to go over. lol

Hi!
I hope your anti-depressant kicks in soon! I am also trying to change my diet since I've gained 20 pounds on Aromasin. It's not easy. Don't be so rough on yourself! Start with something small, like I will plan low-carb breakfasts for this week. See if you can just do low carbs for breakfast. Then, move up to lunch.
I used to stress about my daughter's homework, too, but I ultimately decided to let it go. Eventually, my daughter learned to advocate for herself. If she was having problems with the work, she would ask for help AT SCHOOL. She would visit with her teachers before and after school, and when she was in high school, she took advantage of whatever tutoring was available. Now, she's in college, and she finds chemistry difficult so she seeks tutoring whenever available. Our kids have to learn how to solve their own problems; it's their homework, not YOURS. If your kids are struggling, email their teachers and see when they would be available to help them out.
Good luck and HUGS!

Hi Elaine, I have been on anti-depressants for around 15 years....could be the Tamoxifen interfering or just stress. Thank you for the tips. So far I am doing good for eating today, it seems night time is my downfall. If I can get through tonight, then we can work on tomorrow, and the next day after that. I know it is their homework, I just want them to do good and not end up like me. Thanks again for responding I appreciate any and all advice!
