Last December, I got genetic testing done because of strong family history with Breast and Ovarian (and other!) cancers. I was so relieved to find out it wasn’t positive for either BRCA genes!

I did find out I am positive for RAD51D, but at the time, most studies related it to Ovarian cancer. What a relief again as I had a total hysterectomy at 27 due to fibroid cysts. (I’m 34 now).

My genetic counsellor just sent me this recent article (Aug 2018), that brings this gene up the list for breast cancer, and not only that, it is being highly related to triple negative cancer. (My grandma had this in her 40’s, and passed away at 50).

My aunt had BC twice and a bmx after. No recurrence!

So I’m sharing this article with those who may be interested.
