Hello,

I was supposed to start chemo but my liver enzymes were elevated. They had been high since before diagnosis in April. They tested them again before I got my port and they have been going down. My onc ordered at Ct scan with contrast and they found something abnormal in my liver so now I have to get a pet scan. I am freaking out and have no idea what this means. If my liver won’t tolerate the taxol is there another option? Anyone have anything like this happen?

I am a drinker a couple glasses of wine a day but by no means excessive. I have stopped drinking and had planned on not drinking during chemo anyway. 😬 every time I think I am getting this thing started so I can finish it I get hit with another slam.

Ginge

I'm sorry i do not have an answer but i just completed taxotete and cytoxan for breast cancer..my liver was fine before and now is very enlarged and painful..waiting to hear from ultrasound done last week but its my understanding that not much can be done for this problem so be careful and ask questions!!

Ginger, did they explain why chemo in your case? Grade 1 no nodes both er and pr positive, if you had an oncodx test that was high I would reconsider and do tamoxifen or AI drugs instead. I see it is the her2+, can herceptin be given without chemo, grade 1 suggests that maybe that is the way to go.

the her2 is the kicker. If you have her2 you have to get chemo. I started my first treatment today. . . Let’s see how I do
