My weight was dropping so fast due to the chemo that I just stopped taking my synthroid. I have a good sense for when my TSH gets too high as I develop a specific symptom that I only have when my TSH is high so that is how I know when to take some synthroid. I tried to go back on a lower dose consistently but I ate all week and lost weight when I need to gain it. I should say, my doctors are aware of all of this.

WC3 - glad you are able to manage it, but sorry you have to! It seems like another complication is the last thing we need. I hadn't even thought about the weight loss issue, but will keep that in mind. After so many years, I too have a good sense of when I need more or less synthroid.

DATNY - will do! I have an endo appt next week (assuming I make it day 2 after my first chemo) and am going to ask about the pituitary adenoma. I used to get annual MRI's but then it was stable for so long they stopped a few years ago... would be interesting to have pre- and post-treatment scans for comparison.
