Why is it taking so long?

Last time I did this biopsy thing I had it done in the early afternoon, and they called with my results late the next afternoon. So this time I had it done at the same center, but late morning, so was certain they'd call the next afternoon again, even though they said it could be the next day. Welll, they didn't call yesterday, so I'm spending the morning by the phone and trying not to freak out. I know from experience that it can be just over 24 hours, so what's taking so long? Is it because last time it was benign, and this time it's not so they're running additional tests to check for grade, estrogen, etc and that just takes longer?

Everyone says this is the worst part. I believe it.

    I thought they were calling me early because they ruled out cancer, but nope. So, maybe waiting is good?! I pray it is! Please let us know how it goes! You've been in my thoughts!

    They called. It's just a bad day: my results were bad too. They said it's DCIS, the earliest possible stage, so that's about as good as it can be without being benign, I guess.


    Hang in there! I'm going to do my best to put it out of my mind until the surgeon appointment, because there's not one single thing I can do about it until then. Except pray, and I"ll be praying for you too!

    Oh nooooooooo!! It is a bad day! I'm so sorry! I'm glad you at least know a little about the type. But, this is never easy. Continued prayers!!
