just got pathology report back few days ago confirming IDC, 7mm. Still processing but looking to put the right team together to help fight this. I have an appointment with a doctor referred to my by the doctor that took out the lump for me but I wanted to have others to potentially talk to before landing on a final doctor. I live in Orange County in Southern California so anyone working with a great team or a special doctor that you would recommend please send the name along. If they have dealt with male bd that's a plus but not required. It's been an emotional few days and I want to start the process of fighting this thing and making sure I'm around for my two young kids.

Thanks in Advance

    Hi Avh112,

So sorry about your recent finding. Have you found a treatment center yet? I was diagnosed about 2 weeks ago, and have been going to Breastlink. I have most of the exams and meetings with specialists done except for the MRI which is scheduled for tomorrow, and I have surgery scheduled for the 24th, all within a month which has been very efficient. My surgeon is Dr. Lisa Guerra with great reputation in OC and nation wide. I know you're a male and prefer a male surgeon. Breastlink has a few male doctor as well. I am sure you have already found the help, but just thought I bump this for others as well. Best of luck to you.

Sorry I missed seeing the OPs original post. I am in south OC and going through Mission Hospital/Mission Medical Group (the affiliated oncology office is South Orange County Hematology and Oncology across the street, the affiliated doctors are at Mission Medical Group at same location). Absolutely love every doctor and nurse I have come in contact with and I have received the highest level of personal care throughout the process. I know several women who are being treated there and all have nothing but great things to say, not a complaint from the group. Hoag is another popular option if you are in north OC.

I had a bad experience with BreastLink. When we initially suspected IBC I thought it would be best to go somewhere that specialized in breast care, but they never returned multiple phone calls so I went elsewhere (there's no time to wait with IBC). Later I realized they are a chain, with multiple locations across the country. I wish you the best there DanaP and hope your experience is better than mine was.
