I ended up having to go to the imaging center to request my results since they were posted Monday but locked by my doctor, called my doctor Tuesday so she can unlock it, never heard back so here I am with a report I don't understand :(

Can anyone help me?

(also should i switch doctors? I think waiting 4 days for a diagnostic mammogram result is kind of mean! especially bc i suffer from anxiety and have not eaten in these 4 days which does not include the weeked)

The key words are "probably benign!"

It looks like a good report. I would say if you don't hear from your doctor by close of business today, maybe try calling again tomorrow. Doctor's offices do get backlogged and things sometimes fall through the cracks since they are human. But with a report like this, looks like you can come up out of the depths of despair.

sorry if my anxiety seems dramatic. I wish my doctor would return my calls since this all seems so confusing. I understand about doctors office but totally feel neglected.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for taking your time to clarify the meaning and putting me at ease.

Yes - with a "probably benign" designation and a recommendation for follow up in 6 months - those are all good signs!

No biopsy recommended. This is great.

Congratulations on the good report! That's great news. And I understand being upset the doc hasn't called. Changing doctors seems like a good idea if you don't feel comfortable with yours.

BIRADs3 is very good, about 98%benign. They will want you to follow up in 6 months so they can evaluate and compare findings.

As for your doctor, I don't think its unusual for it to take 4 days to get results, especially since we just had a major national holiday. But, if he has a pattern of not being responsive to you, perhaps you may want to get a second opinion.
