That's "unavailable."

Just told by my pharmacy that Mayne is on back order until October for Tamoxifen. Anyone else hearing this? Or something different? They offered me Zydus, which I haven't heard of, and I'm reluctant to fill it since Mayne and Teva have been the brands with lower side effects for me.

Hi ksusan. I encountered the same problem in August. I called Mayne Pharma and whereas the 20mg tablets were on backorder (and at that time no expected availability date), they had 10mg tablets available. Called my MO and asked if acceptable to take 10mg twice a day instead of 20mg once daily. They called me in a new prescription for 10mg twice daily and my pharmacy ordered the 10mg version for me from Mayne. The only problem might be the insurance not covering 2 pills vs 1 pill but my insurance covered it. I was doing well on this brand and didn't want to rock the boat. But check with your MO.

That may explain why my 90 day refill last week came from Mylan instead of Mayne. I'll start on the Mylan on Monday so am waiting to see if the SE s are different. Just figured it was the pharmacy (Walgreens) buying where they could get the best deal!
