Misha sorry to hear that!!! So your first antibiotics from Saturday didn't help? So sorry. I hope they take good care of you and wish you speedy recovery - from the pneumonia as well as from the AC.

I guess that makes the 3 of us finished with AC.

Misha and RoseRed, do you know when your Taxol starts? My first infusion will be on Sept. 12th. I get it with Herceptin, RoseRed too - don't you?

Teenstar, how are you feeling after your 3rd AC? I have seen your question regarding sleeping pills/help.... Did your MO give you something? Sorry I can't help, as I don't take anything. I had some bad sleepless nights after diagnosis, in hospital (lumpectomy 2x), so I asked my pcp for a prescription. But I haven't used any of those pills yet. I manage somehow... I have good and bad nights, on the bad nights I read. I hope you fid some help

Misha, I'm so sorry you're so sick right now. I'm sure your sweet family is worried, especially by the swiftness of its onset. I pray God's strength, blessings and healing power over you, and all who surround you.

    Get well soon!

    Hi Jaboo,

She just suggested that I take more Ativan. Will try it. The only issue is that while on Decadron I sleep terribly. I take one Ativan and then fall asleep but usually wake up about 5 hours later. Last night I woke up at 1:30 with a crazy case of hiccups. They last about a half hour. Fell back asleep only to wake at 4 with more hiccups! Took a .5 Ativan and did dally back asleep until 7. Never had this before but read it could have something to do with Decadron.

Misha I truly hope they zap the pneumonia out so that you can continue to get well!

My Taxol will begin Sept 10, along with Hercepton and Perjeta. Having another echocardiogram done before that on September 5 to make sure the heart is ok. Yay, can't wait to have that slimy ultrasound gel all over me again. Last time I swear it was smeared all the way down to my belly button. So much fun! Best wishes to everyone.

Thanks for the well wishes all! Unfortunately I’m still in the hospital. The antibiotics from the weekend didn’t touch the pneumonia. It’s good and bad. I’m getting extra fluids and my meds delivered on time, but I did not sleep last night-probably that Decadron! However, It’s also quiet and a break from home!

Had a CAT scan last night of my chest, so I asked the tech to measure my tumor since they’re looking at the chest-he agreed! Haven’t heard the results yet!

Yes my ac is done!! I think my next one starts on Sept 10 and is just Taxol from what I’ve been told.

Hanging in there! Thanks for all the well wishes and love!

Misha,I’m so sorry. Well, at least you are getting some respite at the hospital. Glad the Red Devil is over. Hopefully Taxol will be kinder to you. I thought of you today when I was driving I had on a scarf and earrings and sunglasses and at a 4 way stop this lady drive by staring at me with her mouth wide open. Really boosted my self esteem. People. I hope your tumors have shrunk. They should have told you. Hoping you feel better soon. My last A/C is Friday. She was going to give me the week off. I can’t do that with my schedule plus I just want it over.

Misha how are you? Are you home yet?

RoseRed, what about you after your last AC?

Nicole, I hope your AC on Friday was uneventful...

I am feeling like crap.... ugh. Last AC was on Tuesday, so today is day 4. I'm tireeeeed, sleeepy, achyyyy and whinyyyy. I have a terrible taste in my mouth and don't know how to get rid of it. Eating helps, but it's right back.

I bought a fitbit band as a treat for finishing AC. I want to start walking more often... It's just a simple cheap one, but it's enough to keep track of walking.

I am feeling like crap also. Thankful for a 3 day weekend to get better. Kinda sucks not being able to do anything or go anywhere, but oh well. I can't take the heat at all right now anyway and I sure don't want to catch any germs from people, so home is best. Hope you feel better soon, JaBoo! Noises are still bothering me, so weak and can't get rid of yucky taste in mouth. Mucusy feeling in my throat, blah. I'm drinking extra water/Gatorade today, hopefully that'll help. Had myself convinced this morning I had a fever, but nope temp is ok. Brushed my tongue yesterday and started dry heaving..sweating. Was not a good time at all, so I'll be skipping tongue brushing today. lol. Was forced to take off work W-F again. Aggravating I couldn't work, but I was just too weak.

    hi all you gals!

I had my first Taxol chemo yesterday. No carboplatin as my genetic testing came back negative. I feel pretty good! I’m taking b6 and glutamine to help with possible neuropathy. They Benadryl made me very sleepy yesterday but no other side effects! 11 more to go. Doc says i will likely have to have double mastectomy. Tumor in right breast shrunk from 10cm to 3 cm already. My friend in Cali was going to visit but she has a cold so cancelled. Bummer!

    Hoping you are doing well!

RoseRed, as I see your description, our SEs are very similar. I felt like I'm running a temperature too, checked a few times - nothing.

JKittle, great, one Taxol down! You are ahead of us, we might pick your brains, beware 🙂. It's great you are feeling well!

Well, and the first day with my fitbit band showed 12900 steps. The kids are not yet in bed, so with all the evening chasing and fetching I might finish the day with 14000 steps. Just a day with kids, running around the garden + house with them/after them, plus a walk with the smaller kid (me on foot, kid on his bike). And I was wondering how am I so tired.

I think we've all settled into tired over here, but at least the schedule is looking better. Love you all!

Hi all!! I am home from the hospital. Got home Friday afternoon. I still can’t believe I have pneumonia! How did that happen!?

Jenny-congrats on your tumor shrinkage!! That’s awesome!

JaBoo-awesome idea to get a Fitbit! I need motivation like that!

Nicole-I’m glad you turned some heads at the stoplight! Lol! Awesome!

Rose-I hope you are feeling better soon and can return to work on Monday!

Gina- Woo-hoo! 3/4 done with ac!

I just really want to feel “ normal” again. I’ve been sick for two solid weeks. Then with ac #4, it’s back to SE’s again. Praying for some good health for us all!

    Hey folks.

Well, piddle! I'm back in the hospital with neutropenic fever, pain, etc. Temp went to 102.7 this morning. Its a bit better now, but still!

Misha, it's good to see you home again.

Jenny, Congratulations on your tumor shrinkage!

JaBoo, I'm pretty sure even fitbit can't keep up with the kids! Lol

Hang in there, ladies! This, too, shall pass.

Gina!! Omg! Is it the fever or something in your blood counts? They were taking neotropenic precautions with me, but not that I was neutropenic.

So sorry you’re back in the hospital. Try to sleep well and I’m sure we’re all thinking of you.

Hi, Misha. I'm still in, and my white cells are recovering. Unfortunately, I needed a transfusion last night, but I basically slept through it. My temps are trending down, although my mouth AND my "hoohah" is raw, red and swollen. I'm getting the best antibiotics, so I guess I'll hang out tonight. Maybe, tomorrow.

Nicole, how are you feeling now? My last AC is scheduled for Monday. I'm really dreading this one. Then, of course, we get promoted to Taxol. Joy of joys! (not)

Hope everyone is doing ok, with fewer side effects, and incredible response to chemo, Both!

    Love y'all, ladies. Sleep well.

Hi to all, it's a bit quiet here. Let's see and post some more 🙂

Gina - oh, I'm so sorry you are there for so long! With everything, transfusion and antibiotics, that's really too much. I'm glad to hear your temp is going down. Hope you are home soon! Funny how you write "we get promoted to Taxol" 😀😀 I may use this one. I will tell my kids, mommy gets promoted to another treatment, yay! 😀 They will like it

Misha, what about you? I hope you are feeling well after your illness and the last AC? Are your SEs manageable or at best - away?

RoseRed, I see you are not posting this week, I take it as a good sign... hope you were able to get back to work as you wanted?

JKittle, is your 2nd Taxol today? I hope I'm counting correctly, I really feel the chemo-brain sometimes. How was your week after no. 1? Please do tell us, so that we later folks have some idea what to expect. 🙂 And WOW to the shrinkage of your tumor, that's great news!!

Nicole, how are you after your last AC? Did you get it last Friday? I hope the SEs are away after the week...

Well, wish you all a good Friday and beautifull weekend without SEs

And about me - I got a really full week with the kids. Appointments, doctors, free-time activities and driving around, thousand things.

My SEs from the last AC are much better now. My tongue feels like I drank stg superhot and burned it. There's a painful spot back in my mouth, but I can't check (too far back) so don't know what's that. Maybe the hiding wisdom tooth is waking, it never grew. Well, sorry the details, but theres some blood after my BM... Wonder whether I should tell my MO, what could that be... It's worrysome

My fitbit showed 14000 steps yesterday and 11000 the day before yesterday. I need to add some toning or joga or similar exercises, but somehow I can't fit them in. It's a crappy excuse, but I don't have the time. it deffinitelly is a crappy excuse.... maybe I should try to exercise WITH the kids... instead of trying to find time for myself, which is virtually nonexistent

Hi all, so many of you are dealing with such serious side effects that my main problem now, exhaustion, seems kinda piddly. Had fourth and final TC last Friday (8/31), and I finally understand that whole "fatigue is cumulative" thing. I just feel completely powered down in the afternoon. Unlike so many of you, I don't have little kids to chase after (more power to you), but my horse chose this week to have a laminitis flare up, so multiple trips to the barn are in order. But so far, my Fitbit only gets up to 8000 steps -slacker!

Thank you for your battle stories. I cheer for my sisters when I read them.

    Mary

P.S. Got my radiation CT simulation scheduled for Sept 26, so looks like in Oct I'll be whining about radiation fatigue, etc.

Hi everyone, I am feeling better now, but last weekend and part of this week I was in a very dark place. Let depression and anxiety just take over. I didn't feel like talking to anyone and my bf's attempt to make me feel better definitely had the opposite effect. “Before you know it, you'll be done with treatments and everything will be back to normal" Wow, that caused an explosion I don't ever care to repeat, but maybe now he'll learn to keep his stupid mouth shut more! Lol I'm trying not to dwell on the negatives, but I still got a ways to go there buddy and who knows how 'normal' my future will be. He also said after he had a little sore throat, “now I know a little of what you've been going through". HAHA! Dream on.. I've got my smile back now. Being able to listen to music again is a big help too. Sensitivity to sounds was horrific a week ago. Tummy is almost feeling normal again too. Had another echocardiogram on Wednesday. I see my chemo doc before my Taxol, Herceptin and Perjeta on Monday. My chest was hurting over the weekend but I'm hoping it was just anxiety. So many people have told me they can't see how I'm doing all this. Well it's kinda sorta like I have to. I'm certainly not working through chemo for the fun of it 🤣 Best wishes to everyone who's not feeling well, I hope better days are near for all of us!

So I'm at my my family doctor to get my pre chemo blood work done this morning and the lab technician asks me what kind of cancer I have. Upon hearing I have BC, she then says “I had a friend who died from BC" Thank you SO much for that, I feel SO much better now. Okie dokie

    Hi all of you!

I’m getting ready for 2nd Taxol today. The first 3 days were almost normal for me. 4th day I hit a wall and had to stay home, even after 3 days of rest. Next day I felt fine again. Only trouble now is my hip bones hurt and I’m not even taking wbc booster shots. It sucks when you look forward to day off for chemo, ha ha!

It does seem like taxol is easier as they say so I’m hoping it stays that way. I hope all of you are feeling ok and see something beautiful today to focus on and keep a positive outlook. I’m enjoying the morning sitting outside. A tiny shrew visits my garden and he is so cute! He just ran by. I love it!

    All the best,

    Jenn

Yay!! Thanks for posting all!! I’m not working and I get really bored, so I’m always glad to see posting!

Jenn-Thank you for telling us how you feel since you are ahead of most of us with the taxol! I’ve been trolling other boards because I’m terrified it’s going to be bad! So, I’m glad to hear it’s going okay.

Rose-I can relate about the man not really getting it! We had to cancel a very needed trip up to the mountains this weekend and my DH does not understand why I was so heartbroken. When I was in the hospital, this trip was literally the thing that was keeping my spirits up and I would daydream about it. So, um yeah, I’m a little more than normally disappointed.

Mary-Woo-hoo done with chemo!! That’s awesome!! So happy for you! You’ll have to tell us about radiation!! One step closer to being done!

JaBoo-My lips feel super sore and it’s like my tongue has a slimy coating on it! Glad I’m not alone! I thought maybe it was the antibiotics! I’m also in that sweet spot where the ac SE’s have subsided and I feel “normal”, sort of!

I feel much better now! Almost done with antibiotics, no shortness of breath. It’s good to not feel sick! I still don’t understand how my cold turned into pneumonia that fast! As the weather cools, (not here!) take care if you catch a cold!

    Happy Friday!

    Hi Ladies,

I just joined breastcancer.org, and I also started neoadjuvant chemo around when you did, Finished AC x4 and had my first Taxol Friday.  AC was really hard- lots of nausea, easily tired.  Taxol?  Not sure- I felt fine day 1, crashed emotionally day 2 (from steroids?), now (D3) my mood's normalizing and I'm getting sleeeeepy…

Props to you guys on pulling together on this bizarre journey- what  a strange disease- I can definately feel the treatment, but I can't feel or see the disease...

    Have a good Sunday!

FreetoSing - I'm glad you have found our little group and this forum! I'm sorry for the cause that brings you here... But you will find really a great help in this whole forum. I know I did... Consider adding your diagnosis to your signature, it helps when you are asking questions - people know immediatelly your stats and where you are in treatment... are you doing weekly Taxol? There are several of us starting this week.

Fixyourdog, yay, you are finished with chemo! I hope you are better now and your horse too

RoseRed, that's what my DH is saying, too. "it will be ok" or "in a few months you will be as before!" I would scream at him were it not for the kids. In fact, I stopped talking with him about BC, about my tx and about my feelings. I kind of get it, it's hard for him and he is (maybe) scared too, but I hate it when he simply brushes my concerns off the table. I kind of feel like I'm alone in this. And with the anti-hormonal therapy I must have - I'm never going to be the same. agh that technician - I can't believe he would say stg like that to you!?! People say that all right, but one would think a health professional could know better

Misha, what about your lips and tongue, is it better? I have told my MO on Friday and she gave me some gel, that I was supposed to dilute in water and rinse my mouth with it. Well, I couldn't believe it, but after first rinse it immediatelly got better and now, after 3 days, my mouth is OK! I'm glad I've mentioned it.

I had grade 2 leukopenia and grade 2 neutropenia on Friday... so I got another shot to boost white blood cells.

Starting Taxol with Herceptin and Perjeta on Wednesday. Misha and RoseRed - you are starting today, aren't you? I hope it goes well for you and please post your feelings...

    Have a good week everyone

Blah, yes my hair is growing back from the knees down also JaBoo. Must buy razors soon 😐 I've also decided to stop trying to explain my BC & treatment to ppl who just seem to not get it and that includes the bfwho I love, but drives me nuts half the time. Lol That lab tech was a woman too! Had my 1st Taxol, Herceptin & Perjeta combo yesterday. Because of delays with seeing my doctor before infusion, and then the everything was slowed down because of the new drugs also, I ended up being at the cancer center from 8am - 5:30pm and trust me I was not a happy camper about that. Dead tired by the time I drove home. Had been awake since 4am, thanks to the usual insomnia I have before a treatment. Normally I've had my infusions as early as possible in the mornings, so the steroids don't keep me up at night. Well that plan sure didn't work yesterday. Lol Thankfully I won't have to see doc again until Oct.1st. Echo was ok from last week too! So far today, I feel pretty good but it's a game of wait and see now what the new SE will be. Doc told me the worst could be diarrhea and neuropathy. Oh joy.. Good luck everyone on your infusions this week! Welcome FreetoSing!

I feel like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop! I feel pretty much normal! I stood up too fast a couple of times and got dizzy, but I don’t feel sick or anything! It’s so nice!! Yay Taxol! Lol

    Welcome Freetosing!

JaBoo-mouth sores are better, not sure where they were from! I use Biotene but it wasn’t helping however it seems to be gone now!

Rose-I’m sorry you had such a long day at the infusion center! That totally sucks! Did you have something to help you pass the time?

I also noticed leg hair the other day! It’s very fine though. I think I may use hubbies electric razor on it and see if that takes care of it!

Hope everyone’s week is as good as can be!
