    yellowb - you look fabulous in Rae!

    Well I made it 3 days in a row of wearing the wig to school. So glad today I don't have classes & don't have to wear it. Yesterday was a long day and by hour 10 of having it on I was so itchy from it! It itches my head, and neck, and ears and soon I'm just *all* itchy LOL.

    I still love how it looks - though I've discovered it's not easy to pin back and still look attractive. For some of my lab & clinical courses I need it tied back (which is partly why I bought a longer wig - I need to be able to pony it and chin shags & bobs just end up falling in your face when you're leaning forward and that drives me nuts even with my bio hair).

    Well, when I pull this thing back I'm instantly transformed into a dour 100 year old maiden aunt. It's all dark at the hairline which makes it look harsh against the skin and is so poofy that it just makes a big helmet head and from the front looks like when old ladies used to have the shampoo and set at the salon under the big dryers. Dd & I really had to work with it - pinning some of the blond into the front and twisting things to soften it up.

    Hey did you guys trim your lace front at all? Mine is quite wide and when I was pinning it, it also lifts a bit sometimes. I guess I need to get the glue to fix that?

    moth, have you tried a cotton wig cap? It might help with the itch! Or so I have read...

    I have wondered about trimming my lace fronts for a better approximation of my hair line, but I am scared!

    Hi guys, moth, i had to laugh (in a good way) at your post. I agree with yellowb on a wig cap. Bet you can't possibly look 100, or even 50!!. Big difference. I prefer my headband type liner, makes the whole wig thing manageable. But try a few different types, it does away with itchy.

    Have you tried a low half ponytail while leaving side tendrils out? Taz does that in a lot of her longer styles. It does take a lot of practice to get the wig tailored to exactly your personality and best comfort level.

    IV been wearing a lace front mid length which always falls in forward in my face, i took to using small side clips and I kind of liked it. Then I got brave and cut bangs in it. Now I love It! Totally different and seems natural with the lace front.

    As far as I know, a lot of lace fronts come over wide, and have to be cut. It should be ok to trim, lots of you tube videos on this subject. I have been going to order the glue stuff, but have not yet, this band keeps the lace front in place pretty good.

    Uh oh, I tried on an expensive, real hair wig today which i swore i wasn't going to do

    and naturally I love it and it looks EXACTLY like my real hair (it looks brassier in the top pic than it does on)

    Hi yellow! I'm so glad you remembered to post about your new wig on here.

    That looks great. It has that, what I call, the un perfect look, that makes a wig look so natural. The soft waves are very flattering and the color is fabulous. Very warm, and soft looking. Is it a lace front?

    Can I ask where you got it, if online? I just returned one, yet again, but have the credit, so I need to reorder. The lenght you have on seems to be my best options also. A mid length.

    It is a lace front, a really well done one! I had a credit at cysterwigs, so I got it there. I'm playing down the permatease in these photos -- this is very big hair right out of the box, especially at the back of the crown! It scared me til I got it patted down.

    Hi guys, I'm still dithering about getting a second wig. I've been going topless for weeks now but every time I see a pic of myself I kind of cringe (& yesterday I had to be videotaped for a class assignment - ugh). People say I can get away with it & 'rock it' as the kids say but I think it really ages me and is quite harsh (doesn't help that my skin - which was really pretty amazing during chemo - is now starting to suddenly look old and tired). I think it's the steroids going bye-bye out of the system finally. Skin and joints are both showing their age really suddenly.


    Anyway - I actually have a point & a question: Has anyone come across a longer bob to should length wig that they found ponytails nicely? I'm finding the fronts of the economy wigs just don't look nice when you pull them back. I guess I need something with bangs or a swoopy long fringe - but not too long. I *have* to have my hair tied back &/or, pinned up for clinical settings.

    Or should I just give up on trying to find a longer style that pins back & go for a pixie? Like Jon Renau's Elite or Allure? If you have an opinion, chime in

    Hi Moth. I think if you feel better, confidant with the wig, definitely wear one. I see many mid length ones out there, but i do think its tricky to pull back for a pony tail.

    It's a matter of much online shopping and watching you tube reviews for sure, that being said, I have found the shorter ones are so comfortable, and care free I go with that. Also, bangs cover a multitude of sins! I have cut bangs into 2 of mine, and it makes the look more 'me'.

    What about a whole head cover scarf for your clinical? I hope you find something you like.

    After much deliberation (I had an insane number of browser tabs open on my laptop!) I finally ordered the Raquel Welch Stop Traffic - a shaggy bob with a longish fringe. I got it in the same color as Taz has here. Can't wait till it arrives!

    Has anyone received a wig from the Pink Wig Project? I got mine not too long ago and it's my favorite wig. This organization is amazing to send these out free of charge to us and this wig has brought me so much joy in the short time I've had it. I receive compliments on it every time I wear it and even though it's Pink, I get a lot of questions asking if it was hard to do or telling me it is an amazing dye job, so it must look real. It's super soft and a very cute cut/style.

    Sadly, I read that the founder, Terri Trotter, passed away this summer. She did something truly amazing while she was battling cancer and I truly admire her for it.
