Lump cannot be seen on Ultrasound
Hi, aroud 3 months ago I found an abcess on my armpit (luckily its gone now after I squeezed it, but I still can feel something underneath). And near to the abcess, I develop a new lump, hard lentil size lump that is very near to the skin, it can be felt easily. My whole armpit is swollen too, like it is slightly bigger than the other one. I went to see doctors for 4 times and none of them seems concern. So I went for an ultrasound today and the doctor found nothing on my armpits and both of my breast. I can feel the lump on my armpit, even I can see the bump on the skin. But I don't know why the ultrasound cannot pick it up. And for my swollen armpit, some said it is because of lymph node that swells deep inside. But still nothing found on ultrasound. It's been 3 months, and.. what do you think should I do? I don't think I can order for a biopsy since ultrasound see nothing.

I had a palpable lump that was either missed or misidentified on the ultrasound the first time and turned out to be cancer.
I don't know that cancer would be the most probable explanation for your symptoms because you say you had an abscess you squeezed and that can cause the infection to migrate inward but I would want to know what the new lump is.

Omg Im so worried right now, but how did you find out that it was cancer? 2nd ultrasound?
-
How big does it feel? How deep does it feel? Can you post the report of the ultrasound?
-
Not sure how deep is it, but the one near the skin can be felt easily. This is what I got from the ultrasound.

Not sure how deep it is, but the one near the skin is palpable.

the one near the skin is a lentil sized. The abcess is small pea sized.

About two years later I saw a contour in my breast where the lump was and went in for second mammogram/ultrasound and it was pretty apparent from those images that it was cancer, but I also had a biopsy which confirmed it.
I didn't have any pain or an abscess though.
