Oh, I'm so glad to find this thread! I didn't think I would even want a wig, and now I'm obsessed with them. I have a wig I love, though it's been too hot to wear it ... and I ordered a second one just so I can change it up.

But honestly: I want a dozen wigs. They are the only fun thing about treatment.

Everyone here looks amazing. Truly. Take that chemo!!

I spent a fortune on my human hair wig. I barely wore it. But loved my synthetic hair headband by Jon renau easihair. I purchased human hair bangs I attached to it. It kept me super warm walking my dogs during the winter months. But snarled terribly. I went thru a few of them. Because they would dry out and frizz.

I styled using steam rollers and spraying some Argan oil on for sheen. I used Brandywine wig spray for human hair wig to set! I don’t think you should use much product on synthetic wigs.

okay, I think I am at the point of accepting that this lovely, heavily discounted, unreturnable wig will never accommodate my big head. It's a Jon Renau Evan, with a dark brown root and copper/auburn/ medium brown body. Adorable. Lace front and movable part. For reference, my head is 23.5", and if I'd known more about how wigs fit, I wouldn't have grabbed this.

Free to a good home, and it's had perhaps 6 hours of wear, being generous. Message me if you think it's for you. I'll donate to the Cancer Society otherwise, but if you've wondered about this sort of style I'm glad to help!

And Yellow - I think your short one is cute but the less short one is cuter

pcranky That top one definitely looks great in the photo, and the bottom one is hard to read here... but it's so fun, isn't it? And hardly anything about cancer is fun-- it's really just this and the warm blanket at chemo. Wigs are transformative.

pcranky - would you like us to tell you to buy them all? Cause I'm here for you. I'm a good shopping enabler :P

Djt , yes I have, and I was set to follow those instructions ... but I realized it's not eally the perimeter that's the problem. As you can see, I have a long head in back. The perimeter stretches to accommodate just fine, but there isn't enough give across the ... the ginormous bulb of my head ... so it always eventually pulls the sides and back up. With a grip it will stay put, but I haven't tried for long because it's really uncomfortable like that. I think it's just not a wig for me!

There's a list of wig-makers with more generous regular cap sizes tucked away at Cysterwigs -- I remember Estetica and Envy were on there, and Rene of Paris, but there were more than that.

Yellowb - that's really cute! What size is it marked as? I really like it, but as a petite at 21.25", I'm concerned it might be too big for me.

pcranky, I prefer the second wig. The style is modern and youthful, but then I just like shorter cuts.

I miss wearing my wigs, but it's just too hot to wear them right now. Can't wait for cooler weather.

Your photos are inspiring! I am on the other side of wig wear, back in my real hair. I ended chemo on May 22, 2018 and stopped the wig 2 months later. My real hair and wig were somewhere between chin and shoulder-length. If I had a do-over, I would have gone with a short style to make the transition back to real hair easier. But, I think I may have been too self-conscious to do that, as any comments/compliments would have put me on the spot fearing people could tell it was a wig! I am not good at dishonesty/acting.It was hard to start wearing a wig, just as hard to give it up!

Yellowb! Rae is FANTASTIC on you!. the color - the cut- everything.

The best part is when you dye your own hair red, the color turns pretty quickly and it stops looking as good. - With a wig it stays the right color the whole time!
