hello,

My mother tumor is IDS with HER2 (2+) weakly positive. FISH to follow (still pending) Im too worry as I read triple positive is aggressive. I wish the FISH test will confirm it negative. Is it possible to be negative? Or mostly positive? I just read a research not sure if I understood it correctly it says that after FISH test either it will come again 2+ (low percentage) or it will turn out strongly positive 3+ which is more common!!!! Is that mean there is no hope to be negative????

HER2 negative doesn't mean your mother's bc is not bad.

Yes, triple positive is aggressive, but has many treatment options. If she is ER and PR positive but HER2 negative with a smallish tumour, then that is the best outcome (of a bad bunch).

Triple negative bc (HER2-, ER- and PR-) is also very aggressive and doesn't have too many treatment options apart from chemo.

Don't worry too much until you know exactly what you are dealing with. I know that's easier said than done though.

If your mother does turn put to be her2 positive herceptin can be used as treatment. They are also getting exciting results on a vaccine trial for her2 positive. Good luck to her. I was pretty scared after my diagnosis but I am still cancer free after 7 years. I did AI (hormone suppressing drugs) for 4 years.

Yes. I was HER2 equivocal 2+ and just got negative FISH result. I had to contact the doctor to get the FISH result.
