Rt breast dx with ER/PR+, H2- Stage 2 B in early 40s Had bilat mast with DIEP and 5 years ago.  Lots of complications with DIEP ironically with left breast and had lat flap about 5 months later for left breast. Chemo, rad, Tamoxifen (still taking)  Still seeing onc. twice a year Still no feeling in either breasfor the most part

Anyway, I am now noticing a sporadic sharp pain on the outside of the left breast.  Seems very odd since it has been so long since surgeries.  Any experience with this?

Hello, I have a similiar experience.  I am two years out and started having a sharp intermittent shooting pain.  I am numb as well.  Wondering if it was nerve regeneration of some sort?  For me, it's only one one side...

I am four years post double mx chemo, radiation and failed reconstruction. I have been having shooting pains inmy left chest. Severe enough to take my breath away and stay tender. Any idea what may be going on? Reason for concern?

Hello, Lakehouse. I am 5 yrs post left DIEP and have also started feeling pain in the breast area. I thought I had pulled a muscle as I had been lifting heavy western saddles. The pain is kinda sharp, and I notice it more if I move a certain way. It really doesn't bother me at all in the course of the day, but it's been more than two months and it's still there. At least it hasn't gotten any worse. I'm thinking about giving my breast surgeon a call and seeing what she has to say about it, but might just give it another month and see if it goes away. I'll let you know if I end up seeing the dr. about it. I also wonder if these posters from years ago ever got any explanations for their pains.

I have had weird pains periodically for last couple of months. Sometimes it is sharp, sometimes it is just achy. I had bilateral DEIP 5 years ago. I usually have the pain in the right breast. I find the whole situation confusing since the breasts are numb. It would be nice if one of our many doctors had an answer for us.
