I am 33 years old found indenton contour side of breast which has changed the shape of that breast..done mammogram and ultrasound both were clear drs asked me do mammogram after 7 months again but I am nervous want further testing.

Can MRI detect ductal or inflammatory breast cancer

And what is meaning of focally diated duct on 6 o clock position.. is it normal or I have to push the dr to biopsy it

    Yes, a breast MRI does detect breast cancer. Don't worry about inflammatory breast cancer. You will know that from the condition of your skin--no MRI necessary.

    Your peace of mind is worth something. If a clear MRI would give you peace of mind, I'd say ask for it.

    It would not be possible to do an accurate biopsy without some imaging study that guides the doc to the right spot.

    I hope you continue to find clear results and can get rid of the anxiety. I would recommend a 6 month followup. Can't be too careful!

    I had a palpable lump and had a mammogram and ultrasound and they still missed the cancer even though it was visible on the mammogram. It was not properly diagnosed until I went back in because I noticed a contour and they repeated the mammogram and ultrasound. They should have done an MRI or biopsy the first time.

    Can also gather up your films and reports and see a breast surgeon, not a general surgeon and get an opinion if you should push for more testing. That dr can than order it for you.

    Hi Rizz. I see you posted your report on another thread, and that DJMammo found the results to be benign. I think you'll be fine waiting for the six-month follow-up that was recommended, but yes, if your insurance will pay for an MRI that will provide more information. Best wishes to you.
