OH Boymom77,
My heart jumped a little when I saw you posted. I thought maybe you had your results and I was so hopeful for good news.
I will continue to be hopeful for good news. This waiting time has to be unbearable I know. I am struggling waiting for my appointment to even see if they will let me have an MRI. If one was already done I would be squirming for my results.
Know I continue to think about you and hope your results are benign! -
any news yet?
-
I called the hospital where I had the MRI. They are still waiting for the films from the other hospital (u/s and Mammo). I called the other hospital, who said they sent the films on Monday, they should have them today or tomorrow.
-
I am also waiting of both of your Mri results I am in same situation but only a dimple on the contour area which has chaned my breast shape.not dense breast or nipple invertation
-
Sorry you are going through this Rizz. How long have you been waiting? I called yesterday and they have my films now, hoping for results by Tuesday (due to the holiday weekend). My MRI was on the 23rd.
-

I got my results this morning! All is normal.
INDICATION: Palpable mass, left. Pea sized at the 06:00 position.
TECHNIQUE: Routine axial MR images of the breasts were obtained, including rapid sequence axial fat-suppressed dynamic images before and after intravenous administration of 16cc Prohance. Subtracted images have been provided for the postcontrast series.
COMPARISON: 8/15/2018 US breast; 8/15/2018, 12/22/2017 mammogram
FINDINGS: There is no suspicious mass or simple cyst identified throughout either breast. There is no area of abnormal enhancement. No abnormality is identified in the 6:00 position of the left breast. The breast tissue is heterogeneously dense. There are no abnormal lymph nodes. The chest wall is clear. -

-
Boymom77 that is brilliant news. We are so happy for you, and what a relief that must be!
-
My doctor’s office (ob/gyn) called today to read me the results. I had already seen them on the hospital app. The doctor wants me to see a breast specialist to ease her mind just in case. I asked if it happens that nothing is seen in a mammo, ultrasound, and mri and there is still an issue? They said it’s rare, but it can happen! I’m not really worried anymore, but said I’d go and see what they say. At least my doctor is thorough!
-
thanks boymom77 and kindly let us know what your breast surgeon say.

Just wanted to update you all on what the breast surgeon said. She did a breast exam, (probably the 6th one I've had in a year), looked at my mammogram from last November, and told me the rib pain and breast pain I'm experiencing is normal and she's not concerned at all about it. She told me to take evening primrose oil for the pain. I told her that I was concerned that sometimes cancer doesn't show up on mammograms and ultrasounds and that people have MRI's that often detect their breast cancer and she said that they must have had a palpable lump because that's the only reason they do MRI's for breast imaging. She said that if she really thought there was a chance of breast cancer that she would tell me but otherwise I would have to pay out of pocket for an MRI because insurance wouldn't pay for it. I'm still having pain, some itchiness, and I feel like my right breast looks like it's shrunk a little, but I guess that could be all in my head. The indentation is still there too. So, I'm back to square one and still a little worried. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it and try to put it to the back of my mind. At this point I don't think there's anything else I can do.

Mandy,
I am sorry to hear you were unable to get a definite answer with an MRI to help ease your mind. I am glad that so many doctors agree that all is okay and that is reassuring. It is hard knowing some cancers like ILC does not show up because it grows in lines and not clumps into a lump.
Hang in there! I"m in the same boat. I do not think my OBGYN will order an MRI but I'm getting his second opinion. The indent bothers me more than anything as SOMETHING is causing it. My doctor said that the cycsts on the side of the breast are pulling it in. It's on the opposite side of the indent...so maybe. I don't know.
Hang in there and take a deep breath! Be assured that so many doctors think that all is fine. I know it is so hard because we want definites and that MRI would ease our mind so much. -
I’m praying this doctor orders an MRI for you. At least then you would get a definitive answer and maybe get some peace of mind.
The indent and pain are what bothers me. I feel like it couldn’t be normal changes. Why just in the one breast? Doesn’t make sense. The breast surgeon also told me that 95% of the time that breast cancer doesn’t hurt. I’ve read so many posts saying that many women have experienced pain with it. I’m trying my best to stay positive but it’s tough. Especially when I have pain and can see the indention every day.
Prayers for you, MiaMay! Keep us posted on what the breast surgeon says
-
I dont know why drs dont suggest Mri easily .I went for second opinion and this dr also refused to suggest Mri
-
I have continued to think about you all and hope for the best. I went to the surgeon today that the ob/gyn referred me to. She did a breast exam and I am having an excisional biopsy next Wednesday. She said it doesn’t feel like typical cancer, but that the dimpling is a definite concern. They only way to be sure is to take it out. She was surprised that all of the imaging was negative as she could also feel the mass
-
best wishes for u

my appointment was yesterday. A breast MRI was refused. He feels very confident that the indentation is just how my anatomy has formed due to my weight.
I am obese and my weight has fluctuated by fifty pounds in the last year (up and down). It is still going to be followed. I’ll have more imaging in six months and then six months from that. It is hard not wanting definite answers but I decided I was going to trust my doctor. It was my OB. He has always erred on the side of caution with me. He is not a risk taker so I believe if he felt there was a shred of chance of anything dangerous he would do more tests.
It still is difficult not knowing exactly why my skin is pulled in or why I have pain. But for the next six months at least, I’m letting it go. He said if it gets worse or changes we will revisit the issue before then. I specifically asked about ILC and he felt if i hasn’t it bad enough to I pull in skin then he would feel the hardening of tissue even though It doesnt form a lump there would be thickening.
I don’t know but I’m letting it go at least for six months and then I’ll push for answers again.

hi BoyMom77
I was thinking of u .have u had biopsy?
-
It was today- surgical excision ofthe lump and a little surrounding tissue. The doctor sounded optimistic. I will have results in 2-5 business days.
-
best of luck
And keep update
Thanks
-
Boymom,
How did it turn out? Is everything okay? I've been thinking of you. -
I was blessed to find out yesterday that my results are benign! I have a follow up appointment on October 2, there is something about inflammation that they wish to discuss but it is not cancer or precancer. I am so thankful. I continue to think of you all and hope for the best.

That is so amazing news!!!! I am so glad that you finally have this peace of mind!! That does wonders for mental health I think.
