I'm probably being paranoid
A few weeks ago I had a dull pain on the side of my left breast. I did a self exam and didn't feel any lumps, but did have a brownish discharge from the nipple when I squeezed it. The discharge seemed to only come from one duct. I decided to wait to see if it went away after my period, but that was a week ago and it hasn't and now there is pain in my nipple. I have an appointment tomorrow with my doctor. I know I'm probably overthinking and worrying too much but I wanted to post here and see if anyone has had similar experiences.
I'm 33 and I have family members that have had cancer but no breast cancer that I'm aware of.

Update:
My doctor did a breast exam and did not find any lumps but did see the discharge. He sent me to have blood drawn and I have an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday.

I recently went through some testing that started out at pretty serious focal stabbing pain in one breast. Over the weeks after first feeling the sore spot I too was able to squeeze out green liquid from one nipple at first then the other. I learned that this is actually normal especially if it's from both breasts. Anyways long story short and 2 months later I was diagnosed with a handful of cysts in the area of pain. I had NO lumps that could be felt. My mammo showed nothing but ultrasound found them. I'm 36 btw.
Technically you're not supposed to squeeze to see if you have discharge (and my nipple hurt after I did it) but you could try squeezing the other breast just to see if you also have the same colored discharge.

Thank you for sharing. The discharge is only on one side. What was the treatment for the cysts?

no treatment for me. I have to go back in 6 months to check them and see if they're gone. The pain that I've had for the past 2 month began to get better about 3 weeks ago. Right now I have no pain but from what I've read it's not uncommon for it to come and go. If you have a lump that's large or painful and it turns out to be a cyst sometimes they will drain the fluid. Mostly it's just a wait and see game. Normal nipple discharge is mostly from both breasts, or more than one orifice, and NOT spontaneous. More concerning discharge was bloody, one side only, and spontaneous. I posted a while back about my nipple discharge when I was freaking out (I had no idea discharge couldn't be considered normal unless you're breast feeding). A lot of people responded with good info. If you do a search for nipple discharge I'm sure a lot of posts will pop up.
Update when you can about the appt with your doctor. Hopefully they can at least get it looked at on ultrasound. Good luck!
