Lumpectomy & Radiation Years Later

hi, years later, do you still get twinges and pains in your bad boob?


I had lumpectomy and rads 11 years ago and still get some pains .... mammos have all been fine but I always wonder the norm.....


They never tell you what happens years later....

    Hi Koshka. Yes. I sure do. I also went the lumpectomy and radiation route. My surgeon and RO both said it was common. I'm four years out, my mammos have been fine, but hard twinges happen a couple of times a month still. I can't decide if they come from the surgical area or from the radiation swath.

    I am certain my scar tissue still stretches within my breast. When I do deep stretches in yoga sometime my breast gets very sore.

    Scared to realize the damage that is done to the tissue you are later and at the same time it saves your life.
