Lita: What are you up to now! My grandmother embroidered our pillow cases. I can't look at them without smiling.
-
Lita, you continue to amaze me! Your embroidery is gorgeous! You continue to amaze and inspire me to do more with my days! What kinds of bones do you use for the bone broth? I would like to make some.
I found a recipe in BH&G magazine for a soup called Spinach and rice soup. It is chock full of protein and spinach and absolutely delicious!
Dh is having his fourth surgery in as many months, so I will make a couple of soups this week so that I won't have to cook much as I will be responsible for caring for him and all of our animals! I'm hoping that I can get the mowing done this week too! Who knows, maybe I will bake some bread too!
Hugs and prayers,
Claudia

Lita- you totally amaze me!! Haven’t been on the threads too much. So much going on. We have to go to the cancer center every day as when they removed hubbys prostate they didn’t get it all so he’s done three weeks of seven of radiation. Our garden did amazingly well so I’ve been canning a lot . Put up 66 jars of beans. I could do more but have now moved on to tomatoes , salsa and pickles. Did do one batch of blueberry jam. I’ll be glad when I’m done. So much work and time consuming. I have some baking competitions coming up next week.
I hope everyone is getting some fun before summer is over.

How fun, Diana!
I haven't canned in years. Used to do beans and strawberry jam from my strawberry patch. Thanks to CA drought, can't water as much, so no more berry patch.
-
Lita: How are you doing? This is my favorite thread. You never cease to amaze me! I just had the fun of toilet training my DGS. It is so fun when they make the connection. Is that what God is doing to me now...lol!. We are so lucky to be going through this together.

Hi Lita,
Thinking of you....my mom used to preserve figs or the sole purpose of making fig bread....missing her and the delicious sweet treats. We are going to plant a fig tree this fall...

It's been a really crappy weekend, but this snapshot brought a smile to my face.
Martha Stewart's new Chow pups: Empress Chin to the left and Emperor Han to the right.

Lita, did you finished embroidered pillow case #1? Have you started #2?
I'm going to look for my grandmother's embroider pillow cases the next time I'm at my parent's house.

-
Yes, both are finished, Madelyn!
One has spring butterflies, and the other has autumn butterflies.
I'm kind of pooped today - 2nd day after chemo - after the steroid pre-meds have worn off usually tires me out. I will take pics tomorrow (Sat) and upload them. It'll be interesting to see what "the favorite" is. I'm not saying mine.
It's a good thing I finished them. My eyes are REALLY starting to act up again

Rest up, Lita.
I can't wait to see them!
-
Here they are...
Top one is spring, bottom one is autumn.

Showing some detail
-
Lita those are gorgeous!!
It's like children, we love our children equally, but differently.
My favorite colors are blue, plus pink and purple. I like the spring one slightly more than the autumn for the colors.
Thanks for sharing.
