Polka dot areolas

anybody with mastectomy have tiny blood pin-prick-sized polka dots on their areolas? (I’m five days after surgery.) This is odd. It’s not just the one side with the dye injection. Both sides. My PS did comment to my DH that he “moved” my nipples. (I have a naturally “wide spread,” meaning nipples point out away from each other.)No incisions encircling them. Just little pin-prick-freckles.

I'm not familiar with that. I have the montgomery glands still prominent on mine but you'd know the difference. Perhaps its just from surgery. Itchy too? I remember after surgery I had some discharge from the nipples..and it would dry up. I put a light coating of vaseline on them. You had surgery on the 20th so I assume you still have drains in and are going to see the PS in a day or so? I'd bet its just from surgery but address it with him.

yes, beach2beach! It’s just like Montgomery glands only they are tiny pin-pricks.......maybe when Montgomery glands lose their blood supply they look like that? Or maybe the backs of them were removed so. Now the front surface of them looks like dark blood? Teeny tiny
