Oil cysts, partial mx, SNB, continued discomfort

Hello all...

I had a partial mx of my left breast April 2017, reduction of right breast for symmetry.

I go to the gym about 3x a week right now - I'd go more often but my left breast hurts with the increased activity. I have to remain physically active for my work so I can't just say no gym/running.

I did a round of PT and was d/c with self care instructions - helps but eh, not really. I've tried padding to help assist the flow of lymph in the breast but again, eh kind of works.

Had a repeat breast MRI in June and have been dx with oil cysts in the left breast. I asked my Surgeon if she thought they might be the cause of my discomfort and she wasn't certain.

I'm still having a hard time with the following:

a) finding a bra that doesn't make the discomfort worse. My scar is under my breast so I've been staying away from underwires. I need a bra that has a very wide bottom band so it won't creep up under my breast - when it creeps up, it increases the discomfort I have. I end up with rib pain as well.

b) weight training and running makes the discomfort worse as well. I've been taking it easy at the gym but it doesn't seem to matter.

Sometimes my breast is so sore that hugging my family/friends is a definite no-go. I'm rather frustrated that this is all happening. I wanted a BMX but the Surgeon convinced me this was the better route and all would be well...and it's not. So I'm reaching out to see if anyone is going through the same thing?

Thanks in advance ~ Jenn

My post-surgical issues are not the same as yours, but I do have recommendations on the bras: anaono full coverage pocketed bra from their makemerry collection, cropped cami bra by Hanes and Bali comfort revolution. If you think you'd like to do MX, I think you still can. I did nipple sparing BMX with immediate DIEP flap recon. No regrets and happy with results. Hope the bra recommendations help!

Good morning. I had pain off and on from my lumpectomy for nine months, and even now exercise aggravates the tissue and the pec. Good bras are key! Look online for a post-masectomy bra specialist; I went to Sylene in DC and they do phone consults too.
