Could you get a small airline carry-on size duffle bag or over-night bag with wheels?

I use one and I'm 20 years out from surgery! I can't carry heavy stuff because of lymphedema and back injury. Although I do lift cat litter.

As far as then getting things up the stairs, what I do is take manageable amounts of stuff out of the bag with wheels and carry it up stairs or into the house. I'd rather take many trips up and down the stairs then blow up my arm. I do the same thing with groceries, small amounts, many trips in and out of the house.

Sadly no I have no extra money and what little money I do have will be going towards food.

I will have to figure something out as I have no vehicle to bring heavy groceries here and can't afford to move to a place with a lower level apt either.

Like I said this cancer is taking very thing away from me. What little sense of future I thought I had, my ability to do things myself,I suspect even my life a few years from now.

I have learned the hard way to rely on nobody cause nobody was there and now I also got nobody to rely on when I am going to need help.

    Thanks.blessed be.

    Hi,

Yes the fever went down so I didn’t go to the ER, but the infection is evident and seems to me the reason for the pain.

The thing is that I had read in here that the pain got worse in days 4 to 6 and on. I’d assume because the scar is healing and all gets tighter.

So for sure take it easy for as long as you can.

Today I’m going to see my PS to have her check it out

Except for the crackers, all of these are examples of some fully cooked shelf storage UHT-packaged foods. They do not really need heating.

Those crackers there have no soy content, if that matters to you.

The white meat chicken chunks should work well for your chicken wraps until you could reach up into your freezer compartment.

The fried rice has some carrageenan, nothing else of concern, and it is delicious.

That corn soup is rather sweet. The same brand produces a UHT tomato soup.

That Barilla brand meal is meatless and cheeseless. Since you are a meat-eater, you might like to look at some of the Hormel brand Completes line of UHT-packaged meals.

Any of these UHT packages you could cut to open if you could not peel them open early in your recovery period.

There are also instant soups, and there are some canned soups having pull-tabs for opening.

I don't know if I'm unusual but I had a really sore throat from the tube they put down your throat during general anesthesia and I only ate ice cream for the next 2 -3 days after surgery. It was similar to when I had my tonsillectomy. So maybe get some small containers of ice cream if you have room in your freezer. I tried to eat some cold cereal with milk and it felt like I was eating ground glass so I just ate some plain vanilla ice cream twice a day for a few days and drank water.

    Lots of luck to you.

    Thank you

I am getting almond milk and protein powder for the first few days as the anesthesia makes me highly nauseous for awhile.the most  i can handle is fluids and something extremely light but usually mostly just various kinds of fluids for the first 48 hours.

I noticed that cold water was bothering my throat right after surgery. They did give me ice chips in the recovery room which were soothing to my throat. When I got home my son went to the store and got me some vanilla ice cream (after I asked him to go and get me some) which is what I ate for the next few days. Plain water was bothering my throat for some reason, they really got me good with that tube down my throat I guess. My voice also sounded really hoarse. I have no idea why, I was only under general anesthesia for less than an hour. Plus it felt like they gave me extra anesthesia, I was groggy and my legs felt really weak. Maybe when you get older your body can't handle the anesthesia as good? I do remember the anesthesiologist asking for the Propofol and the Fentanyl and some other drugs I don't remember the name of from the physician's assistants just before they knocked me out....he put a big mask over my face, next thing I knew they were waking me up in the OR. Then I was in the recovery room surrounded by nurses. At least I didn't get nauseous. A woman next to me was getting sick, I could hear her through the curtain.
