Dcis but mri suspiciois for more
I’m not sure if this is the right forum , but in July I was dx with dcis. It was treated as not a big deal. I had an mri booked just to make sure there were no other issues before starting on treatment. However , mri showed areas of enhancement and looks suspicious, along wth a node measuring 1.7cm
So now I need a mammo, ultrasound and biopsy of the node and area of enhancement. The dr said this could all be related to my excision surgery, but she’s pretty concerned . Im 30 and scared. This wasnt expected at all. Anyone have positive experiences with a bad mri that turned out benign

Yes! I was diagnosed with DCIS then the MRI showed enhancement and bad kinetics. 3 nodes lit up. Had lymph node biopsy. My friend who’s a breast surgeon thought it would be positive. We were discussing port placement and chemo. Thankfully, she was wrong. Proceeded to surgery, still thinking likely to find IDC. All 3 lymph nodes were benign and just found DCIS.But I remember how panicked I was. Thinking of you and hoping your outcome is the same as mine.

Having a treatment plan in place really helps. You’ll be there soon. Please keep me posted.

Dear BAP, sorry you are going through this and also sorry about your husband. You are very young.
I hope you get good results, what I have learned through reading many posts in these forums is that MRIs give many false positives, I hope you will be one of them.
I am 42 yo, and was dx a papilloma with atypia last february, and 4 months later another mass has been seen in ultrasounds, so I got also an mri, it says probably another papilloma but it must be excised and biopsied, and it came as birads4. I am not going to have it excised or biopsied because I have decided to get a pbmx even though it is not recommended for my condition.
But I understand you, waiting and not knowing the results is extremelly scary, probably is the worst part. Once you know what you have and the route you are going to take, it will be better.
I am sending you the best positive energy and really hope only is only dcis.

That gives me hope. Thanks for telling me . The more positive I hear, the more positive I feel. I am scared. Te waiting is the hardest part for sure . I will keep you guys updated. Def not looking forward to the mammo. My breast is still super sore from surgery . :
