I am 67 years old. I had lymphedema 16 years ago (2002). It's been gone since then but this January (2018) I have been having upper back (shoulder blade area), front chest area, and lately left armpit and arm, this is where the LE was. I had BC on left and had a lumpectomy, radiation, and 5 years Tamoxifin followed by 6 years Aromasin. With these new pains in my back, chest, sternum and arms I told my doc that it was somewhat reminiscent of LE. My lymph always pooled in my left shoulder blade area. My first trip to doc was in January this year. I've had lots of tests, X-rays, without relief. I'm having MRI this Saturday, August 18. She pretty much looked at me like I am crazy when I suggested LE. Am I?

    Of course you're not crazy! You're smart and aware. Once you're past the MRI, a visit with a well-qualified LE therapist would be a very helpful in determining what's going on. Trained LE therapists are the medical professionals who both diagnose and treat LE. Unfortunately LE has no expiration date, and since you were dealing with it earlier, this is a very sensible avenue to pursue, and any doctor on your team can write the referral.
