edited August 2018 in Waiting for Test Results

Within the last week I had a my annual 3D mammogram. I received a letter that says to come back for pictures. I did n then they wanted an ultrasound. The doctor came in n said they want a biopsy since they see something that was not there last year but unsure what it is. I had the biopsy n at that time the doctor said I see something in the straight line that we should do since they were doing this. I am really scared. I watched a best friend die in 3 years from breast cancer that went to her brain. I just turned 60 n they told me benign conditions of the breast don’t show up at my age. Any suggestions

Dearest CS 1522: I would imagine that this situation is incredibly stressful, especially given the loss of your dear friend. Deep breaths and one step at a time. I was just told by my doctor that unexplained changes are generally reviewed and biopsied just to be safe. Changes are investigated. I hope that all goes very well for you, and that fear stays at bay. Will you please let us know how things go for you?

    Thinking of you.

I too am waiting on biopsy results. It’s been 6 days and I’m so worried I can’t function. I’m 52 with a history of LCIS and the dr did not seem optimistic. Pray we both get a good result soon. God bless.

We know you both are scared. We truly feel your pain worrying about the results. Been there, done that. Believe it or not this is the worst part of the process - the not knowing phase. You will know very soon I’m sure but understand this whatever it is you will get through it just like we have and we are here to help in any way we can.

I won’t even begin to tell you not to stress about it. That’s an exercise in futility but do try to stay as busy as you can.

Keep the faith and keep us posted.

Tinkerbell, did you get your results? I am 59, my first abnormal mammo and US. Birads cat 5, upper right quad rt breast, not parallel, stipulated, star shape, calcs, 18mm. Tuesday 8/21 is my biopsy. Need moral support. Just knowing other people are stressed like me helps. I am resigned.
