Scared
Hello everyone. I have been having pain in my left hip/SI joint for a couple months. I would describe the pain as an achey burning. Advil completely relieves the pain for 12 hours but then it comes back. Blood work has been normal I know that the next thing I need is a bone scan but I’m terrified to i find out if this is Mets advice? Words of encouragement?

From what my dr told me tylenol and motrin do not take the pain of mets away.... I'm in terror mode over somthing else so I felt the need to write to you ....
-
thank you for reaching out. Terror mode describes my state of mind as well even with your encouraging words. I hope your doctor is right. I also will pray for you. I feel very alone. Too scared to level with my family. I appreciate the time you took to respond.

I totally get it because I've been awake since 4am holding my 4 year old sobbing into a pillow... I feel completely alone...

does anyone know what the best test is to get to check for bone Mets? I thought it was a bone scan but some stuff I’m readings says it’s not able to tell between arthritis and Mets. My doctor says he is willing to do the bone scan but not do an MRI unless the bone scan is concerning. But if it “lights up” for everything how will he know. Just trying to make sure I get accurate answers.

iI had similar pain which turned out to be bursitis. It is very painful.Hoping yours is benign too.

thank you kbeee. I hope so too. Prayers appreciated.

Me too. Excruciating pain more in tailbone area. Went to chiropractor who said it was probably sciatic nerve. Internist said it was my osteoporosis. Ran tests. Yup that’s the cause. Btw arthritis is very painful too.
As of now intermittent pain every now and then. Completely understand your anxiety. We can’t help but associate every ache and pain with a possible recurrence.

I get constant hip pain whenever my workout runners or even street shoes wear over. A lot of walking in flat sandals can cause the same pain. Def get the scan, but you might also want to check your footwear for worn out spots...just a thought! Hoping your results are clear!

Hi InGodshands, I have been having pretty severe back and hip pain. My Onc ordered a CT. It lit up on my L4 area. They said they thought it was arthritis but would follow up in 3 months. The pain continued increasing and my Onc ordered at PET/Ct. I got the results today and no evidence of Mets but do have arthritis. Hang in there. It's so hard to stay positive and not slide into the black hole of anxiety. Wishing you a clean scan.

I had hip pain that was so bad, I had to hop on one foot to get to the kitchen
I mentioned it to my onco and she said to just wait a few weeks before we freaked. At about 3 weeks, the pain starting getting less and less and by 5 weeks, gone. That was several years ago and has not returned....yet. I think I pulled or irritated a tendon from our nordic pole walking that DH and I and I tried intermittent speeds.
