Anyone having surgery at the end of August?
My mastectomy is scheduled on August 24th. It would be nice to have a buddy/s I can talk to that are having the same surgery around the same time. I am having the DIEP flap surgery. Let me know!

Hi, looks like I’m scheduled for 30th or the following week. Stay strong. This is a marathon not a sprint

I have a bilateral mx next Tuesday (28th). So scared of it all. More so of the test results to come after. :-(
-
i dont know if i can help. But im 4 days post op from my bilateral max with tissue expanders. To say i was nervous would be an understatement. I cried, panicked, threw stuff, everything leading up to surgery. I was scared of everything. The IV. The anesthesia. The needles. Pain. But most of all the sentinel node check to see if my cancer spread to the lymphs. The anticipation of it all is the worst! I asked god for a sign the morning of my surgery that everything would be ok. My mom passsed away from breast cancer over 20 years ago. When i got to the hospital my nurse comes to greet me and says " good morning caren, im your nurse eileen and were going to take care of you".eileen was my mothers name! At that point i felt a calmness i have never felt since my diagnosis. I knew i was going to be ok. And let me tell you. My recovery has been pretty darn good. Sure it hurts. But its surgery. Its going to hurt. But i. 4 days out now and im feeling so much better everyday. And as soon as i woke up my doc was there to say " your nodes were all clear!". You can do this. You will do this. And you wil live and be awesome.

Careninnj, that's good to hear. I'm having nerves! I'm having a lumpectomy on 8/29. I have my Multidisciplinary Team Meeting tomorrow. Is that when I'll find out BRCA1 or 2, or the gene test?

I'm having BMX with DTI reconstruction on Wednesday the 22nd. Not looking forward to it. Not one bit.

Hello ladies,
My name is Elizabeth and I am one day out from my BMX. I had mine on the 20th and was discharged Tuesday afternoon. I have been stalking the forums around here but never posting anything. Sometimes well a lot of the time I feel no one can relate to what I am saying or feeling. This is by far the toughest thing I have ever had to endure. I wish you all the best with your surgeries and a speedy recovery.

Hi Boymom4life I had my UMX on 14 August .Feeling so helpless and struck with drains My house is a mess, I will get rid of drains tomorrow and get into action .Although I am not in pain but very uncomfortable to do house chores ,So I have been lying on sofa all day long. Kids are relying on uber eats . Getting up without breast is extremely traumatic .

Waiting on the test results is the worst
