Exploring the woods and the stream near my house, catching frogs and salamanders, making forts, and collecting plants. We went swimming almost every day. Walking with my sister and our friends three miles along the lakeshore to the next town, getting popsicles and returning home. Camping trips with my family visiting relatives and friends along the way. From the midwest, we went camping to the east coast, then the west coast, then we fell in love with the southwest and went there several times. Lots of hiking in state and national parks.
I’ll ask the same question:

taking swimming lessons, making forts in a nearby woods, playing games in the backyard until it got dark and our parents called us in. Going on a family camping trip and another trip to Iowa and Wisconsin where we would visit all our relatives (with a stop in Minneapolis for a Twins game).
That's a fun topic; anyone else with childhood summer memories to share?
