Has anyone flown with their Flexitouch?

My fiance travels a lot for work, and pre-BC I traveled with him often. Last year I was in treatment, and just didn't have the energy to go. Then as soon as my energy levels were back to normal, LE flared it's ugly head. I have a Flexitouch, and I love it. I use it every day, and I think it has really helped get my LE under control. The only traveling I've done since that diagnosis has been by car - I'm afraid the airlines will make me check the Flexitouch, and it will get lost. Worst case scenario - they lose it, airline refuses to pay for a replacement, insurance refuses to pay for a replacement, and I can't afford a replacement. Probably irrational, but that's where my head is.

My question is this: has anyone here flown with their Flexitouch? Were you able to keep it as carry-on, or did the airline make you check it?

You are allowed to take medical equipment on board and should not get charged. There was no way I was going to leave my 1500 dollar jovi jacket and multiple sleeves and short stretch bandage under the plane. I guarded it with my life. Your still allow to take a personal item bag and perhaps a carryon in addition. Check airlines.

My friend was on board and was watching out the window the baggage boys load the baggage on the plane. They didn't put them all on and my friend watched her luggage go back to the holding area. She said hey that's my luggage. No one seems to care and so her luggage was not with her on that trip. End of story.

I’m worried about fitting the suit, hoses, and machine in a carry on size bag. I really wish tactile medical made a travel case for the whole thing

I carried my lots of places. At first I carried it in the plane and then eventually checked it..wrapped in bubble wrap. Never had a problem.....lucky I guess if having cancer and a flexi touch is luck

I am so thankfull that the LE thread is always so helpful! I haven't flown since diagnosis either and we almost flew to Denver 2 weeks ago. We didn't because I told my DH not without all my LE gear! My Flexitouch is a daily thing to!

I flew to Spain with mine two years ago. Zero problems at all - went through security and the only question was - what is this? My husband explained and off we went!!
