3 Mamm. & 2 U/S This week & my DH has Sarcoma...terrified
A month ago we found out my DH has Stage 3 aggressive sarcoma. Then 3 weeks ago my left armpit and breast had been sore...so I went to my doctor who sent me for a mammogram. The day after I got a call back for an mammogram and ultrasound. 1cm asymmetrical density....where I had been sore. Had the follow up scans on Tuesday and at lunch they called asked me to come straight away for another ultrasound. This time on a different part of my breast. I could barely drive to get there. At the end of the day I was called for Another mammogram for tomorrow.
This first density was not found in the follow up mammogram and ultrasound. But a new area of concern showed up in the mammogram. Nothing in either of the ultrasounds. I have to go tomorrow for a spot compression mammogram on the new area.
Has anyone had this experience? I am terrified my DH and I both will have cancer at the same time..

Far too early to panic. Do you have older mammograms for comparison to the current studies?
Can you post your current reports?

Judy, my DH was diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer about 8 months after I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was done with chemo and surgeries, so i had the energy to help him deal with his cancer. I also had a great support system which stepped up with meals, cards, and phone calls. It was a rough few months, but we got through it. We are 3yrs and 2yrs NED (no evidence of disease.)

Judy798 - sorry that you are going through this. call backs for mammograms are no fun. Try not to worry until there is a diagnosis. Biopsy is needed for that as mammograms can't tell the whole story. I was diagnosed with breast cancer two days before my husband had a stem cell transplant. Whether or not you have cancer, now is the time to lean on your friends and family. I had emotional support from all sectors as well as a lot of practical support - meals, driving, entertainment when husband couldn't leave the house, etc. People really do want to help and it is OK to delegate. Private message me if you are diagnosed and you would like some ideas for managing "both of us have cancer."
fingers crossed yours in nothing and your husband's responds well to treatment.

Thank you all for your kind responses. I had my 3rd mammogram this morning...with the smallest plate possible to get as close as possible to my breastplate. I met with my doctor this afternoon and luckily the results were all clear. She suggested a referral to gyno to check my hormones as I am 5 yrs post a Hysterectomy with still 1 set of ovaries. I am in my early 50's. The doctor felt my lymph nodes again and there is no signs of enlargements. If my breast is is sore in the next week or so, I am going to ask for a referral to a breast specialist. I read online about Inflammatory BC and it really scared me. I have to have another mammogram in 6 months. I think I have been having anxiety attacks from this...
I have been feeling very overwhelmed this week with the 3 callbacks and my husbands scans and oncology appointments....plus everyday things with 3 teenagers. I have 3 friends who recently have battled BC and I feel cancer is all around me.
Deep breathe and one day at a time. Thank you again...and prayers to you all

IBC usually has a pretty dramatic presentation, worsening over a matter of hours and days. From your description it doesn't really sound typical of IBC. Hopefully, you'll get some answers soon. I know how stressful this can be.
