I am unable to take any of the inhibitors and tamoxifen due to severe side effects. So i started the Faslodex injections. Has anyone had severe dry eyes?

    Hi there!

I am looking for some information on Faslodex from someone's personal experience. It has been presented as one of three options for stage IV metastatic breast cancer. There isn't a whole lot of information out there but I found your posting. If you wouldn't mind, I'm curious what pros and cons you might have experienced yourself?

    All the best,

    Robin

    Hi Robin,

There is a thread dedicated to Faslodex in the stage IV area (Faslodex Girls 2014 I think). You'll find a lot of information there as many of us are on it.

Hi Robin, I'm a stage IIA and Faslodex is my last resort. I couldn't tolerate the other medications (Femara, tamoxifen etc). So far i don't mind it but i've been also working with a Naturalpatic Specialst as well. The only concern I have is the cough and feeling of a heavy chest. I can deal with the tiredness, nausea and have the neuropathy in my feet under control with supplements. I'm concern that the feeling of 'heavy chest'.

I just started on Faslodex for stage IV, and I have been having problems with dry eyes. But not sure if it is from the faslodex or from the whole brain radiation?

hello, i'm on my 4th round of faslodex. Dry eyes - yes, i invested in a 'True Tear' it is quite expensive but our health insurance reimbursed us. You can only purchase it from your eye dr., it is a small simulator that you put inside your nose and it simulates your tear ducts to actively produce tears naturally. i decided this route because i'm tired of all of the chemicals i put in my body. i am Stage IIA who has tried all of the drug inhibitors including tamofen and could not tolerate them. We flew down to seattle and met with a specialist and he suggested Faslodex to my Oncologist. So here I am - so far i have a smokers' cough (i'm not a smoker), extremely dry skin (coconut oil is my best friend), dry eyes (true tear), joint hurts - i take a lot of supplements. I am on my 2nd year of cancer free and just want to hang in there and be able to do this treatment. ugh!
