Collagen Peptide Powder Supplement and ER+/PR+ Breast Cancer

Was wondering if anyone knows if collagen powder could be used to offset some of the effects of the AI?  If it is in fact estrogen producing itself or what?  My skin, nails and hair are suffering....Please help. :/

    Sorry there has been no response yet. I saw this yesterday so I was looking up things on Google but having trouble finding anything definitive as to it being safe for ER+. I'm still looking though. I would be very interested if this works as my face has turned into a mass of wrinkles in a short time after starting treatment.

    Also, have you tried diatomaceous earth? I use it in smoothies and it does make the skin soft. It's mostly silica. Also a humidifier helps.

    If its nothing but collagen, it will not be estrogenic. My wife takes hydrolyzed collagen for her skin and nails. It's essentially the same thing as gelatin. Whether hydrolyzing it, or how hydrolyzed it is makes a difference, is debatable.

    I am post menopausal and have been on Anastazole for 1.5 years. I started a collagen supplement about a monrh ago and I really think it's helping. Nails are noticeably stronger and I'm seeing some new hair growth. Hope that helps!

    Has anyone with hormone receptive breast cancer been cleared by Doctor to use collagen to combat the joint pain caused by drug therapy?

    I am wondering the very same thing. It's helped my pain from arthritis significantly.

    I actually brought this up to my wife's orthopedic surgeon and he said that as far as how he sees it, meds for arthritis would only work if the SEs are due to arthritic problems. The onset of side effects caused by AIs are not related to that disease but to the way they affect your body. Granted, he did not strongly advised against them so they might actually work for some. Sadly I don't think much research or none at all is put into this. MO did suggest the daily use of glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate.
