Ocean, I've seen a few of those movies too. I've watched Willie Wonka a number of times too.
We often watch Pride and Prejudice (2005) at Christmas and I like to watch old movies again but I watch new movies when they're on TV.
-
Oh, speaking of Christmas we always watch It's a Wonderful Life and George C. Scott's A Christmas Carol. Love, love love both of those movies at Christmas!!
Do you have shows you watch traditionally every Christmas or do you prefer to watch new shows each year?
-
We usually watch Pride and Prejudice (2005) at Christmas and I often watch Christmas TV movies that are shown as well.
Do you have many DVDs or not?
-
Yes, we do. Every year my daughters like to watch Christmas shows from their childhood. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, The Year Without a Santa Clause, Frosty the Snowman, etc. So we usually do a family sleepover so we can watch all the movies, play games, etc. It's SO much fun!!
Do you like to watch movies/cartoons from your childhood or not?
-
I don't like many cartoons from my childhood but I like some old movies and I like to have my memory refreshed.
Do you look at the TV guide each week so you'll get to see what's on?
-
No, we don't get the TV guide. We just look at our on-screen guide to see what's on or what's coming on.
Do you have satellite TV or cable TV?
-
No, we don't have satellite TV or cable TV but a lot of Australians do.
Do you have a digital recorder or personal video recorder to record TV or not?
-
We have a DVR that records TV shows. The thing is I record a show and then forget to watch it most of the time. Lol
Do you record shows and watch them or forget to watch them?
-
I don't forget to watch the shows I record but some days I don't have time to watch them and they accumulate.
Are you a planner or not?
-
Yes, I am a planner. I usually make lists to remind me what I have to do.
Are you a list maker or do you just go from memory?
-
Yes, I do make lists, especially ones in documents because I keep a lot of typed records.
Do you create a lot of documents at home or not?
-
I wouldn't say a lot because I have to create so many at work. But I do create what I feel like I need to keep me organized.
Do you create more documents now or did you in the past?
-
I'm not sure if I create more documents now or in the past because I've created a lot ever since I did a computing course in 1995.
Did you watch Prince Harry and Meghan get married or not? I did.
-
No, I did not. But I feel like I did there has been so much press coverage of it. I got engaged on the day Prince Charles & Lady Diana got married!! How cool is that?! We didn't even mean to. It just happened.
Do you keep up on the Royal Family or not?
-
That is cool!
I do sometimes watch documentaries about the Royal Family but I don't follow them closely.
Are you feeling sleepy at the moment or not? I am.
-
No, I'm a natural night owl. (They did a study, and muscle strength is supposed to peak around 9pm for night owls. It can get set in utero. My mom is a night owl. If only the rest of the world was like this, I wouldn't have to stuggle with mornings!) 😋
Are you a picky eater or not?
-
Not really. I like most things.
How do you like your steak? Rare, medium, well or somewhere in between? I like mine medium.
-
Well done steak.
Do you prefer steak or seafood?
-
Steak. I do like some seafood - shrimp, deviled crab, crabcakes.
How do you like your eggs? scrambled, fried, boiled, poached, over easy, over medium? I like mine scrambled, boiled or over medium.
-
Hi Ocean!! I hope you had a good weekend.
I like poached eggs if someone else knows how to make them, otherwise I usually have fried eggs. I think I like any way of cooking them though, so long as the white is cooked and the yolk is runny (except for scrambled obviously). What does "over easy" or "over medium" mean though? We don't say that in Australia.
Do you know how to make good poached eggs or not? I don't.
-
Hi Aussie!! Yes, I did thank you. I hope you did, too!!
No, I don't know how to make good poached eggs. My Mom used to make them and I never really liked them so I have never tried.
Over easy means the egg is flipped and the yolk is still runny. Over medium means the egg is flipped and cooked a bit longer so the yolk is only slightly runny. I forgot about sunny side up eggs. You don't flip the egg.
Do you dip your toast in the egg yolk or put the egg on top of the toast and eat it?
-
Ocean, thanks for the explanation.
I put the egg on top of the toast and eat it that way rather than dipping the toast in the yolk.
Do you like cooking or do you get tired of it?
-
I like it but I also get tired of it.
Do you find yourself cooking the sames things all the time or do you try new things?
-
I often cook new things.
Do you cook enough to have leftovers the next day or not?
-
sometimes I have planned leftovers for another meal. I cook everyday!
Cook books or Internet to look for recipes?
-
both
Do you cook from memory or use recipes?
-
Hi Ocean!!
I usually use recipes but I often vary them and write down the changes in my notebook.
Do you have a recipe folder that you have printed recipes in and write notes in or not?
-
Hi Aussie!!
I have several recipe books. Some are mine, some were my Mom's, some were my grandma's. I love the older ones with my Mom & grandma's notes written in them.
Do you prefer family recipes that have been handed down over the years or recipes from recipe books or the internet?
-
I mostly prefer recipes from my school days or more recent.
Do you have a lot of family traditions or not?
-
Yes, we do. I love family traditions. I don't know if my girls do or not. Lol But I do!!
Do you like to do things the same way all the time or do you prefer to change things up a bit?
