Feeling Sick After Biopsy
I am post-op 22 hours core biopsy. Immediately after the procedure I was tired and a little sore, but overall fine. As of right now I feel like crap, shakey, tired (slept good last night), headache, stomach ache. I am not by nature a nervous or anxious person, so not certain. Just curious if anyone else experienced this the day after their biopsy?
Thank you♡

This could absolutely be related to the bioosy. Probably not caused by the biopsy itsel, but more likely to be caused by the emotional energy expended before, during, and after the biopsy. You probably experienced an adrenalin dump after the biopsy. This would explain the shakiness, nausea, headache, stomach ache, ect. Rest and stay hydrated today. You should feel better tomortow.

I felt sick and had a headache, also sorry if TMI but I got diarrhea seemingly out of nowhere. I don't believe it was a coincidence. I'm 2 days past now and feeling a lot better, just still dealing with a little pain at the biopsy site. If you keep feeling that way and it doesn't go away I would call the center. Good luck

HI Zuzy -- I had my biopsy on Monday, and I also felt terrible for several days after. I'm feeling much better now, though. Interestingly enough -- I had very little pain from the biopsy site, aside from that first day. And overall, my breast is far less painful now, than it was prior to biopsy -- I'm thinking that maybe taking a few pieces relieved some of the pressure it was placing on the rest of my boob?
Still waiting for results, though.

I had my biopsy this past Tuesday and I felt awful the next day. Just really run down and tired. It was no fun at all! Friday and today (Saturday) I feel back to normal again

I'll tell you that my bilateral MRI guided biopsies wiped me out but good! I wasn't expecting it to be as painful and emotionally trying as it was (and I am a tough cookie with great coping skills). I felt pretty much exactly as you describe. I just took it easy, watched chick flicks, drank lots of fluids (especially water) to flush the contrast out of my system, and slept when I felt like it. I have the best husband in the world who spoiled me so that helped. But as others have said here, I felt much, much better the second day after the biopsies. Hang in there and go easy on yourself!

HI. I had bad nausea that day and a few days afterwards. It forced me not to move around too much and to relax. Take it easy sort of. I also had slight headaches but I also drank plenty of fluids. Rest and water helped me. Feel better everyone!

I felt the same way after my biopsy. Relieved but just washed out. In fact, they had to put two clips in as I experienced syncopy during the procedure. Nerves can really take a toll.

It can also be the after effects of any medication they gave you to help calm you down or put you in twilight sleep during the biopsy.
Versed will make me nauseated to the point of vomiting up to 48 hours after admenistration.

So this is something new for me. I am have excruciating pain in my breast, neck, upper to mid back and shoulders. Like the only way I get relief is if I walk around holding and clutching my breast. I can't do that all day. My sister told me I needed a better bra. I bought two front close bras one that is too small and on that is just right. It lifts and supports but it don't have that extra support in the shoulders.
Has anyone experienced this? What did you do? What was the pain from? I am thinking my pain is from the biopsy. But I don't know.

after my biopsy my surgeon asked if he could do anything for me. I asked for Zanax. He smiled and called it in "so it would be waiting for me when I got home. Such a sweetie. Never be afraid to ask or tell them how you feel.

Yes. I asked and was told to take Tylenol. Hhm!. I see a surgeon this week because apparently something isn't right. Not enough tissue was taken so I have to see a breast surgeon.
I will ask again.
Thank you JeN777.

Ken1018,
I experienced this same pain as you described. My surgeon told me it was nerve pain. The muscles in my back were hurting really bad and i could feel it all the way around under my arm and in my breast. I wore a snug fitting sport bra and it was the only thing that seemed to help me, I couldn't walk around at my job holding my boob, they frown upon that :-). Maybe try the sports bra. I hope this helps!
