Embarrassing Question

I have a lump on the bikini line, thought it was likely an ingrown hair or cyst. No white head has ever come up that I know of. I have had this for two to three months, sometimes it hurts, sometimes I don't even notice it. Since my diagnosis everything from a hangnail, to my embarrassing lump is cancer! lol. Are there lymph nodes in that area? Do I really need to bother my doctor about it?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

yes there are lymph nodes along the bikini line right where the hip, leg and pubic area come together. Hoping it’s just a stubborn ingrown hair!

Vampeyes, I have a lump like that on one leg above a knee. I was concerned it was skin cancer. (This was before I had breast cancer.) I showed it to my dermatologist during my annual skin check for cancer and she explained that it's a kind of benign bump that forms in response to the trauma/irritation of an ingrown hair or similar, and that it can be removed but leaves a scar, so we just left it. I wonder if a dermatologist visit might be the right place for you to start?

    Dear Vampeyes

I would have it checked out. Or now that I see your post is a couple of weeks old, maybe you already have. My take on things nowadays is that any lump or bump on a breast cancer survivor should be checked out, unless it is clearly a whitehead or something. I'm going in for an ultra-sound to have a weird lump on my forehead ultrasounded next week. Normally I would never have worried about it, but due to my recent experiences I'm suspicious of any lump anywhere.

The lump is gone and just a dark spot remains so I have just let it be for now. My guess is it was an ingrown hair and on Tamoxifen I seem to be healing even slower than I was before. I have a cut on my leg from May that is still healing, crazy.
