Lip twitching

Options

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I am almost 3 years post chemo. In the last couple of weeks my upper lip on the left side started twitching. It is now happening every few minutes so several times an hour. It is driving me crazy!!! I can visibly see it happening in the mirror. So. I just saw my oncologist last week. I didn't report it because it wasn't that bad and I kinda forgot because when I got there my heart rate was 115 resting. Temp 99.4 and I've been so fatigued. They also told me my potassium was below normal. My potassium has never been low. Not even during chemo when I didn't eat for days. So, she told me to see my PCP. I've made an appointment but I'm kinda freaking out about the twitching lip.

Also, I’ve been eating potassium rich foods all week and the twitching is just getting worse

Thanks Everyone.

Potassium and calcium affect muscles....low potassium could cause the twitching, easily. Stress also does that. Twitching or fasciculations can also be caused by low magnesium. But..the number one reason is STRESS.

I would think this is not related to chemo.

If the twitching continues, have it assessed further. New symptoms like that should not be ignored.

I see this is a year old, just wondering what the lip twitch turned out to be.

I completed all my AC/Abraxane chemo April 2018. mastectomy done. Completed Xeloda (oral chemo) in April 2019. Trying to get back to normal.....and my lip twitchs every now and then. Started about 2 wk ago. I go days with no twitch, and today it came back for a little bit. Doesn't last long. Just enough to get me to start worrying.

I'll call my Onc MD tomorrow for an appointment. Just curious what yours turned out to be

    Thanks

So long story short I became “twitchy" all over. They were called fasciculations. A neurologist ordered an EMG. This showed polyradiculopathy because my lower spine is a mess. The twitching was NOT cancer related. I was taking a medication, Effexor or Wellbutrin, I can't remember which, for hot flashes. Once I stopped the medication the twitching went away. I hope all turns out well for you
