I am a 32 year old female with children aged 7 and 9from Canada. In January I found spots of blood in my bra. I felt a twinge of pain in my breast, squeezed my nipple and blood came out (One side, one duct). I went to my family doctor and he ordered an ultrasound followed by a mammogram, both came back clear. Because the bleeding has not stopped since January (easily expressed and some spotting in bra) he ordered a ductogram. Due to referral errors at his office getting the ducrogram has taken quite a long time. I am finally going into the breast clinic tomorrow morning for my ductogram and am trying to be logical hoping it is nothing but an intraductal papilloma but I still feel very nervous.

Does anyone have a similar story to share? What should I expect at the ductogram?

I had two ductograms. They numb you a little and then put a wire down there (I don’t know the specifics.) It did not hurt that bad, and then they took a mammogram of the area. My radiologist took me to his office then and there and showed me what he thought were papilloma in there. Then they scheduled me for an excisional biopsy. They did find pappiloma in there and also atypical cells. The long and short of it was that that breast was up to no good.

Take things step. It’ll be ok. Better safe than sorry.
