I am 46 years old and in a high risk program due to my mother having BC at 40. Last mammo/mri was June 19th which showed a "regional non-mass enhancement" and "Microcalcifications".

I was called back for a mammo and 3 ultrasounds. Ultrasound showed "ill defined and hypoechoic". This has been a painful area in my armpit for last two months.

During biopsy I asked the Radiologist what he thought... he said "I see malignant characteristics and benign characteristics.. I am 50/50".

JEEEEZ thanks buddy.

Trying not to worry. I should have results in 2 more days. Tired of friends saying "Stop thinking about it".

jrew21, the waiting is the worst! - we all understand! Distraction and keeping busy are indeed good methods for bridging the time. Please keep us posted, and vent here all you need.

Hi Jrew21, Two days is not too bad of a timeline as many people have to wait weeks. It sounds like you went to an efficient place that tries their best to get your results in a timely fashion. Waiting is by far the hardest part! I gave myself permission to worry for 15 minutes at a time and then I needed to move on and do something. It would be impossible to say don't think of it at all, but doable to think about it in small increments until you get those results. Worrying is not going to make things better, so try to fill your time with things that need to get done. It will make your mind focus on other things for a short time. Once you have finished your task, you can reward (I know sounds weird) yourself with 15 minutes to sit and worry. Then move on and repeat as necessary. You may be worrying for nothing at all. Worse case scenario is maybe they find something, but once you get a plan in place, you will feel more in control again and move forward. Hoping for B9 results!
