THIS or THAT Game

yes! I live in NC and we experience all 4 seasons and I love them all. Autumn is probably my favorite.
Summer or winter?
-
We're having winter now but I prefer summer.
Do you get a lot of insects in summer or not?
-
yes if it's wet. I make my own mosquito spray from essential oils and it works so good. Since I have LE I must be extremely careful with the right side.
Outside or inside. I prefer to be outside!
-
Vargadoll, good on you for using essential oils.
I spend most of my time inside but I like gardens and the beach on occasion.
Formal garden or relaxed garden?
-
Both! I love all gardens!
Zoos or nature centers
-
I'm not sure what a nature centre is but my favourite zoo was in Adelaide when I got to see pandas.
Would you rather see the cute animals in a zoo or the big impressive animals?
-
Big animals. ..Lions, tigers and bears...oh my!
A nature center has wild life that's native to the area. Animals and plants both.
Busy days or laid back days, which do you prefer?
-
I prefer days where there's not much that I HAVE to do but where I find some interesting things to do.
Do you have a lot of hobbies or not?
-
Hi Aussie!!
I guess my only real hobby is cross-stitching. But I LOVE it!! I haven't done much of it for the last year or so. I really need to get back to doing it again. I miss it!!
Do you enjoy crafty hobbies or sporty hobbies?
-
Hi Ocean!!
I enjoy crafty hobbies more than sporting ones. I like watching gymnastics though.
Do you like to watch sport on TV or not?
-
I like to watch soccer on TV. And college football. But that's about it.
Do you like soccer or football?
-
I don't like either soccer or football at all.
Would you like to get more fit or not?
-
Yes! I'm working on it daily now that I can get in the pool everyday. (Weather permitting!)
Do you like cardio workouts or strength training?
-
Vargadoll, well done on working on getting fitter.
I think both cardio workouts or strength training are fine so long as they don't make any of my sore places hurt too much.
Did you do aerobics in the 1980s or not?
-
Oh, good grief no!! That sounds too much like work!! Lol I do the stretching exercises my PT gave me but that's it. I'm thinking about doing some Yoga.
I did aerobic exercises back in the 80's at a ladies' gym. It was the most strenuous thing I have ever done!! I remember crying trying to get out of bed. And just sitting down was next to impossible!! I remember saying "Ow, ow, ow!!!" all the way down, and then all the way back up as I stood up!! Lol
Have you ever done Yoga or not?
Oops I was answering Vargadoll at the same time as you, Aussie!! It's funny I answered your question about aerobics in the 80's!! Great minds think alike!! Lol
-
Ocean, I'm sorry that doing aerobics was such agony for you! I was very fit doing aerobics while I was at school. Yes about great minds, LOL.
I did yoga at school as well but not since.
Do you often want to try new things or you want your life to stay the same (minus medical stuff obviously)?
-
I like my life right now (minus the medical stuff) but I don't mind trying SOME new things. No bungee jumping, no zip lining, no jumping out of airplanes. Lol
Do you like extreme sports or very safe "feet on the ground" types of activities? Lol
-
I've never done any extreme sports and I'd mostly rather do safe activities. I would consider flying fox (zip lining) though.
Are you a risk taker in your life generally or not?
-
Not at all. The safer the better is my motto!! Lol
Do you like winter activities or summer activities better?
-
I like staying home but I look forward to the beach, warmth and sunshine in summer.
Do you vote or not?
-
Yes, I do.
Do you do volunteer work with any groups or not? (I should but I don't)
-
I haven't done much volunteer work since I got chronic fatigue syndrome.
Do you feel guilty about all the things you "should" do or not?
-
Sometimes I do. I know I "should" volunteer more often. I did when my girls were younger. I was a Girl Scout leader, PTO treasurer, parent volunteer, an Ohio Reads volunteer in the kindergarten classes, classroom aid, band booster, soccer Mom, etc.!! But as they got older I just got burn out!!
Do you ever feel like you are "expected" to do things or not? (I did back then!!! Lol)
-
Paved streets.
Does your state rain in the summer or not?
-
Ocean, I think you have plenty of things on your plate, so please don't feel guilty about the things you don't do.
Yes, often I do feel like I'm "expected" to do things and sometimes I really am but sometimes I'm not.
Do you find it helpful to talk through other people's expectations or not?
-
I just noticed that MissBianca posted at the same time as I did.
Yes, our state rains in the summer at times. Melbourne weather is unpredictable.
Does your state get snow or not?
-
Thanks, Aussie. I try not to feel guilty. But sometimes I can't help it. And yes, I do find it helpful to talk through what's expected.
Now, the snow question. Yes!! We get more snow than I care to think about!! Some years are worse than others!! Everybody here talks about the Blizzard of 1978 as the worst ever. It shut down everything!! I was a teen. But I remember being out of school for 2 weeks. We got around 35" of snow!! It was crazy!! Our average is 22" per year!!
Do your seasons noticeably change or are they the same all year?
-
Ocean, wow about your snow and the blizzard of 1978! That reminds me of Little House on the Prairie.
Our seasons do noticeably change but the weather and temperature are also variable and we sometimes say that we can have all seasons in one day!
Are you prepared for extreme variations in your weather (eg. spare food and battery run lighting etc.)?
-
Yes- we even have a generator. It's powered by propane and can operate the entire house. I always have to much food in the house! (And toilet paper..lol) we could probably go a month without needing anything if we used everything we had.
Do you like flip flops or sneakers?
-
No, we probably should be. Lol We had an ice storm in 2007 where we were without power for 5 days over Christmas!! We used our fire place for heat and a generator to keep a few appliances going - refrigerator, lights, etc. It was like living in a Little House on the Prairie!! Lol
We say something similar about our weather. "It's Ohio. If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes." I've been to soccer games for my daughter in the morning and been snowed on and by afternoon you're putting on sunscreen!! Lol
Do you ever get extreme weather like ice storms or not?
